I have been playing with a concept for a while, and that is: What are the 100 things I would like to do, have, be, or experience before leaving this beautiful planet? nnI began this exploration myself after noticing that many of the clients I had worked with did not have clear and defined ideas of what they wanted to attract or create. In fact, when I asked several of my regular clients to identify 100 things they had trouble getting past the first 20. One friend and client took the challenge and got to 100 easily in a matter of minutes. nnI tried this exercise too and was able to get 70+. YIKES! We live in an incredible time of abundance and opportunity and I was sure I would get to 100 quickly. So, this caused me to wonder, what am I reaching for and why? How am I limiting my possibilities? What am I saying no to?nnIf it’s not on my radar . . . something I am reaching for, or intending, or desiring . . . how am I going to attract it? If I have an idea of how things must unfold and there is another way for it to manifest then I limit the possibilities. nnI am not talking about superficial things like going to a movie today. I am writing about the things that would somehow enhance your life or broaden your experience or would just be fun.nnI remember that flying on the Concorde was something I always wanted to do. Obviously, my intentions were not clear about that because I kept putting it off, you know how we may often say, not now, or later. I seem to remember stories about too expensive or not enough time. These types of excuses for not taking action tend to keep us stuck. Anyway, fast forward to now and the Concorde is no longer flying. As I look back with that 20/20 hindsight vision I can see that there were possibilities that would have allowed that experience if I had allowed them.nnOne of the ways that simplifies looking at 100 things is using categories. For example you could look at what you would like to do, have, be, or experience in the following areas of your life. nnRelationships: perhaps you would like to have a yummy relationship partner who is the list of all of the attributes your perfect relationship partner possesses. Maybe there is a family relationship you would like to heal. Are you wishing to share deep levels of intimacy and connection with another? nTravel: where have you always wanted to travel? How have you wanted to travel? Perhaps you have had an inkling or dream of a photo safari in Africa? Or maybe you would like to experience the hills of Tuscany. You could combine this area with the first and experience a romantic trip on the Orient Express with your perfect partner. nnEmotional: are there unresolved emotional charges in your life? Perhaps you regret not taking a particular action and resolution of this story would feel freeing to you. Is there something you have always wanted to say to a loved one and haven’t? Is there a particular pattern of reactivity that you would like to leave behind? nnSpiritual: what experiences would you reach for in this area? Perhaps you would like to deepen your connection to all that is. Or, maybe you would like to go on a meditation retreat to a power point of vortex or spiritual energy? You might want to find a spiritual community to join as a way of creating an environment that perfectly supports you and your spiritual growth. Perhaps the experience of consistent peace and presence is something you would like to create for yourself. nnEnvironment: does your environment perfectly support you? How could it be even better? What would you change? Are you living in the state, city, climate that you want to be in? Do you have the support services nearly accessible that make your experience of life even better? Are you delegating those things you don’t do well? Are you delegating those things that make your life better? One of my clients has recently hired a personal chef to support her life. nnPhysical: are you healthy and fit? Have you always wanted to run a marathon but put off training for it? Does the idea of studying yoga as a pathway to fitness appeal to you? Is your body looking the way you would like it to look? Have you found the perfect combo of diet and exercise that keeps you looking good? What would you like to create or experience in the area of your physical well being that you have not already experienced or that you had at one time and would like to regain? nnLife long learning: have you always wanted to learn to speak Italian? Would taking a class on raw food preparation enrich your life? Do you love the opera and have limited knowledge about it? Have you always wanted to know more about a certain culture or tradition? nnThe final area is contribution. This one often is missed because we get so caught up in what I call the do-do land of life that we miss the opportunities to bring through us our gifts and the genius that each of us has to contribute. nnWhat gift(s) do you have still untapped, unexplored, unexpressed that would contribute to the well being of others? How would you like to express that gift? Creating a work of art, learning to drum, writing a book . . . ? There is something that we each have to express that is unique to us alone. If we are not bringing through the expression of that gift it is lost to us and to those who want and need it. nnOnce you have identified your 100 things, note when you have reached or manifested each of the goals or desires on your list. Add new ones to replace the old. In this way you are always reaching and growing towards something more.nnSo, here’s an invitation. Take some time now and reflect on the 100 things you would like to do, have, be, or experience before leaving this planet. Make a list and date each entry. How many could you come up with? If you don’t know where you are going, how are you going to get there?
