Although being a little overweight might make you feel comfy while you sit or lie down, it also makes you dull, lazy, and unproductive. No one likes to grow out of their favorite denims and Levis T-shirts. That said, depending on your body type, you will have to be diligent to maintain your handsome figure and energetic youth. You might have read all about the weight loss stuff on the internet. However, if you are looking for the Ayurvedic way of doing it, then you are in the right place! On a side note, don’t be fooled by these simple tips and think — “This seems too easy to be good!” Ayurvedic remedies and tips for physiological well-being are very simple and effective in nature. The modern advertisements have to make their products rather sophisticated to sell them. Ayurveda is a way of life in the Indian culture for thousands of years, and it can be seamlessly integrated into your life. To read more about Ayurveda treatment of obesity, you can head over to Nirogam.com and read their blog. So, keep an open mind, relax and read along!

1. Practise mindfulness

Though it might feel a bit repelling at first, it is indeed a great way to manage weight loss. You might think — “Okay, so I have to sit in one place chanting om?” Oh no no no, it is much much more than that! I have been practicing mindfulness for last three years, and the results are amazing. However, it is not as simple as some people think it is. Mingyur Rinpoche explains the process of meditation beautifully on his channel. As you practice mindfulness, you become more aware of your habits and tendencies and hence, you are able to change them. There is a considerable reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression. These factors are a major cause of weight gain. Just give it a try, you’ll love it.

2. Exercise or Yoga

Well, I think you have probably seen this coming! And if you didn’t, maybe you are looking for an easy weight out… well — There isn’t! When you wake up, you need some exercise to fire up your system. That is absolutely crucial for various functions in the body to function smoothly. Ideally, I do my yoga practice first thing in the morning preferably betwee 3:40 and 6:30 am. If I cannot I do it later in the day since they are easy to do, and can be conveniently done anywhere. You just need a 6 x 6 space. Though be careful, most of the practices taught in the books and net can be dangerous. My instructors have strictly advised me against it. I took classes and I have been practicing for three months and the results have been absolutely amazing. If you are interested, there is a certain yoga known as Upa-Yoga (upa means half) which are simple and safe practices taught by Isha foundation offline and online. They are conveniently available on youtube. Now, this might sound a little hypocritical, but as it is half yoga, more intricate functions aren’t affected by the practice. Other yogic practices affect the human system in a big way, Since we have heavy time constraints, I would like to advise you to just try it for three days, if it doesn’t work. Leave it. That said, if you can’t find a certified yoga teacher, then exercise is the second-best option. Specifically, lightweight training with compound exercises.

3. Eat twice a day

In yoga as well as Ayurveda, it is advised to eat only twice a day. People who are below the age of 25 can have three meals, and people who have above 25 should have 2. The reason behind this is to prevent cancer (since they require more food to develop). If your body is in a certain balance it can go without food for a day perfectly fine. Now, that might be bizarre for you but, since I have practiced the same I have witnessed the results myself. Now, if you are a serious bodybuilder that might not be possible for you, but if you were you wouldn’t have been reading this blog.

4. Tune In With the Sun

We put a great importance on the cycles of the sun and the moon in yoga and Ayurveda. You already know that sunlight is important for production of vitami D. The digestive system is also functioning better during the day, from sunrise to sunset. Try to have your last meal before 7 pm, this will greatly enhance your life in many ways. Now, it might sound a little daunting, but you give something to get something. Akshay Kumar is a diligent practitioner of this practice and wholeheartedly propagates it. He eats his last meal before sunset by the way. Also, being in tune with the sun facilitates hormonal balance in the system, which leads to an optimum weight of the body.

5. Sleep Timely

Sleeping according to your natural cycles is also crucial. So, as doctors advise you, put away your smartphone, laptop, and tablet away. If you can’t for professional reasons, you can use f.lux and night mode which is freely available for your laptop and smartphone. These applications or feature overlays a warm yellowish hue which removes blue light from your device’s screen. Blue light suppresses melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep cycles. I usually sleep around 10 and wake around 4. Although, I still break this habit and revert back to my old lazy unproductive potato self. Those times are so depressing! Conclusion I hope you like today’s post. Unlike my earlier post, in which I stringently advise you to consult your doctor before making the changes that were discussed in those posts. However, you can start following the tips discussed above without any hassle. They are completely safe! Have a great day ahead!

Abstract Gallbladder stones, or gallstones, are hardened deposits that form due to an imbalance in bile composition. In Ayurveda, this condition is linked to an aggravation of Pitta dosha, which governs digestion and bile secretion.
