By now you should have a good idea of what hypnosis is and what hypnosis is not. Now I want to show you what you, as a hypnotist, can do with hypnosis. After all, what is the point of being able to hypnotize someone if you do not know what you can do with them after you have them in hypnosis?
Also, if you are the one being hypnotized, you will discover many of the amazing things that hypnosis can do for you. After you read this post, you will know what your options are and what you can look forward to!
With that said, let us go ahead and take a look at what hypnosis is capable of.
Hypnosis Is a Powerful Tool for Inner Transformation
To start with, it is important to realize that our beliefs, feelings, and behaviors originate from within us at an unconscious level, and those very things are what determine our experience of reality, whether it be pleasant or unpleasant.
Oftentimes we want to change those beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that cause our experience of reality to be unpleasant or do not produce the results we desire. Herein lies a problem. Most of our attempts at change seem to be short lived and fruitless. It can seem so difficult to make the changes we desire, as if we are always going uphill. The reason for this is that we attempt to make changes on a conscious level using willpower and whatever motivation we can muster up. When our willpower runs low or our motivation drops off, we find ourselves back at square one. Sound familiar?
The thing is, in order to truly make those changes you desire, you must make them at a subconscious level in order for the changes to be effective and permanent. Also, when you make those changes on a subconscious level, you will find that it is a whole lot easier than the will power/temporary motivation method.
You may be wondering, “But how do I make changes from the inside out?” Well, that is where hypnosis comes into the picture. You see, hypnosis is like a bridge to your subconscious mind that allows you to gain access to parts of yourself to which you do not normally have access. Hypnosis allows you to learn new ways of believing, thinking, feeling, and behaving at a subconscious level. This is fantastic because all true learning happens at a subconscious level!
Now let us take a look at some of the amazing things that hypnosis can do.
1. You can control your physiology using hypnosis.
Did you know that it can actually be healthy to go into hypnosis? Studies show that your immune system actually gets stronger under hypnosis. As I said before, hypnosis is like a bridge to your subconscious mind, and because your subconscious mind controls your physiology, through hypnosis you can change things like:
* heartbeat/pulse ratern * blood sugarrn * body temperaturern * metabolismrn * bleedingrn * breathing rate
2. You can manage pain with hypnosis.
Hypnosis has been used for years to manage and relieve pain. Studies have revealed that hypnosis works by decreasing the brain’s response to pain signals and also helps deal with the psychological part of pain that can make pain seem even more intense. People have used hypnosis to control pain in situations like:
1. car accidents (while waiting for help to arrive)
2. giving birth/hypno-birthingrn 3. managing chronic painrn 4. undergoing major surgeriesrn 5. relieving headachesrn 6. having cancer treatment
3. Health problems can be alleviated using hypnosis.
Many health problems are brought about by psychological causes. It is no secret that the way we think, feel, and believe can have a direct effect on our health. Ever heard of psychosomatic illnesses? Additionally, there are also behaviors that result from psychological imbalances that can have a negative effect on our health, such as drug use, smoking, overeating, and lack of exercise to name a few. Finally, there are genuine physical causes that are the root of some illness.
Thankfully, hypnosis can help deal with each of the areas mentioned above. Here are a few areas where hypnosis has been used successfully to alleviate health problems:
* insomniarn * skin conditionsrn * obesity/weight controlrn * allergiesrn * anorexia/bulimiarn * asthmarn * high blood pressurern * irritable bowel syndromern * impotencern * many more
4. You can heal emotional problems with hypnosis.
As I am sure you are aware, the way you believe and think at a subconscious level will have a direct effect on how you feel. Also, how you feel has a lot to do with how much you enjoy life and how you behave. The way you currently believe and think was mostly conditioned into you at a young age and has been absorbed subconsciously. Hypnosis can be used to find the causes behind the way you feel, to “un-learn” those old ways of believing and thinking, and learn new, healthier, and more empowering ways to believe and think. Here is just a very short list of emotional problems that can be treated effectively with hypnosis:
* anxiety/stress/nervousnessrn * depressionrn * self-esteem/confidence issuesrn * angerrn * guiltrn * fears and phobiasrn * and the list goes on
5. You can gain freedom from addictions and bad habits with hypnosis.
Listen, I am not a psychologist. However, from what I do know of psychology and from personal experience, addictive behaviors and bad habits seem to be a result of the emotional imbalances mentioned above as well as the ways of thinking and believing that are at the root of those imbalances. Let me be clear, that is an over-simplification of what is behind addictive behaviors and bad habits. I am just trying to break these ideas down so they can be easily understood.
Now, in the same way that hypnosis can help a person deal with the emotional problems mentioned above, it can also help deal with the addictive behaviors and bad habits that result from them. Let us list a few addictive behaviors and bad habits that hypnosis can help a person gain freedom from:
Examples of Addictive Behaviors
* smokingrn * alcoholrn * cuttingrn * drugsrn * sex/porn/masturbationrn * shoppingrn * Internetrn * gamingrn * gamblingrn * and many, many more
Examples of Bad Habits
* nail-bitingrn * bed-wettingrn * lyingrn * stealing/kleptomaniarn * impulsive spendingrn * selfishnessrn * negative thinkingrn * procrastinationrn * and many, many more
6. Hypnosis can improve the overall quality of your life.
All right! Now, with all emotional problems healed and with those addictive behaviors and bad habits dealt with, now what? Well, you do not want to take something away without replacing it with something better, or at least of equal value. Just as hypnosis can help you “un-learn” those old ways of believing, thinking, feeling, and behaving, it can help you turn right around and “re-learn” new and better ways of believing, thinking, feeling, and behaving. Here are a few examples of how your life can improve with hypnosis:
* motivation to exercisern * healthier eating habitsrn * increased fulfillment in relationshipsrn * emotional well-being/happinessrn * better sex!
* increased healthrn * more positive mental outlookrn * confidence/improved self-esteemrn * and much, much more!
There is a whole lot more I thought about including in this article. However, I did not want to write a book! I just wanted to give you an overview of what hypnosis is capable of and why it works. I also wanted to get you excited about hypnosis and what it can do for you (if you are the one being hypnotized) and for others (if you are the one doing the hypnotizing). By the way, in the very near future I will be teaching exactly how to hypnotize people and help them with the same things I mentioned above. Stay tuned!
