We only have one body; we sometimes take that for granted. When we are young most of the times we abuse our bodies, and take things for granted. Forgetting how fragile our bodies really are. We abuse or neglect our bodies in several ways. I for one can admit that I am guilty of this. When I hear the words “Health Food”, “Low Fat”, “Non Fat”, : Low or No Sugar” In the back of my mind I always think “tasteless” or worst it will taste like cardboard. Just the idea of giving up sugar deters me from eating healthier, I must confess that I have a weakness for sugar; I have a very sweet tooth. Stress is another area we might need to work on. Stress is caused by some many different things I cannot imagine anyone that does not feel some kind of stress. It can affect so many areas of our lives ranging from sleeping patterns to eating habits. Sometimes the stress does not allow us to sleep, when you are unable to shut off of our minds, sleep deprivation is practically guaranteed. It does not matter if it’s falling asleep or staying asleep, problems can do that to you. Sometimes stress affects your eating habits. Some people will eat when they are stressed. Imagine not being able because of the stress and then on top of the lack of sleep you get into the habit of eating late at night. Since this is the only body we will get we need to make sure we take care of it. We will need our strength if we are going to achieve our goals. Not all the damage we have caused to our bodies is irreversible. We have a chance to eat better every day. All we have to do is change some of the things we eat. Changes can be as simple as making an effort to get to bed early or not to take your job home with you. Francis-Bacon once said, “A healthy body is a guest chamber for the soul. A sick body is a prison.” If you want to be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor you must take care of your body. Watch what you eat. Get enough rest and find an outlet to relieve your stress. What are some ways you release stress?

Instead of living in the moment, we live for the most part in our minds, cluttered with thoughts. These thoughts are in fact part of our memories from the past. These memories are either pleasant or unpleasant, depending upon whether we had a like or dislike towards them when they occured. For example, instead of enjoying the holiday you have been looking forward to, you spend most of your time thinking about your work whilst on holiday. You cannot fully relax and appreciate
