When you hear the word “action” what comes to mind? Do you see someone running and moving fast or someone sitting down watching TV? Of course the person in motion is the person we see taking action. The same applies to taking action on your goals. You cannot sit around waiting for things to happen. You need to be taking action on a daily basis.
How to Get Moving on Your Goals
Everyone has some type of goal either to earn more money or get in better shape. What is the best way to accomplish both of these goals? Start taking any type of action. If you want to earn more money you can ask to work more hours each week. You can start a second job or create your own business on the Internet.
If you want to lose weight you can start walking each morning before you go to work. You can join a gym and lift weights each day for 30 minutes.
The point is we all know what we need to do to accomplish our goals. The difficulty comes when we have to do some activity on a daily basis. We all can do something once, but can you do it each and everyday?
For example, one daily goal I have is to write one article for my sites each day. I usually accomplish this goal, but some days I am lazy and do not write an article. You know what? At the end of the day I feel worse when I did not write vs. when I did write an article. Regardless of length of article I feel like I accomplished something on my daily list.
Now writing is not the only daily action on my list. However, it is an important item I try to accomplish each day.
Keep Moving Forward
Taking daily action on your goals will help you move towards your goals. At the time you may feel you are not gaining on your goals, but without taking daily action you are moving away, not forward on your goals. Too many of us drift during the day and I am guilty of drifting.
Power of an Egg Timer
Here is a tip I learned from John Assaraf to stop the drifting. He recommends using an egg timer and set it for 15 minutes. Then every 15 minutes you are to write down what you did in your daily planner. By doing this you can make sure you are not drifting off to some unnecessary task or spending too much time on a task.
I personally use a digital egg timer I set for 30 minutes, which sits right next to me at my desk. Use the egg timer and write down what you did for two weeks. After two weeks you can look at how and where you are using your time. You can then decide the activities to stop and the activities to increase.
Action is the momentum builder towards your goals. Without any actio
I can guarantee you will not accomplish a single item on your goals list. Upon taking action and using an egg timer to assist you will realize how much more you can accomplish each day. The more you accomplish each day the faster you will move towards your goals.
So get busy today taking action on your goals.
