There are 2 types of Alcoholics; the 1st is born with a permanent body-chemistry imbalance; their body can’t eliminate alcohol residue -- acetone, which creates a physical craving to drink more alcohol.
The 2nd drinks enough alcohol to create the same permanent imbalance.
The human body is not designed to eliminate poisons forever.
Because there’s no cure for the in-bo
imbalance, nan alcoholic can never drink safely.
Once a person is alcoholic – he is always alcoholic.
An alcoholic body cannot repair itself.
In both alcoholism and addiction, what the body craves the brain approves and justifies – creating thought patterns that are self-reinforcing.
Addiction begins with a thought.
An addict finds a drug, and then the ideal dosage of it.
Since the body acclimates to any drug, the dosage must be constantlynincreased to get the desired effect.
The body adapts further, incorporating the drug into its homeostasis –nit must now have the drug to function ‘normally’.
This is the state of addiction.
Addiction is like a parasite, It eats us from the inside -- eventually taking up more space within us than we do, until It is more “us” than we are.
At this point, we are lost to the disease of addiction.
However, if the use of the drug is stopped, toxins are cleaned out of the body completely in approximately 5 years.
The physical craving no longer has control over the individual at this point, and the mental compulsion is diminished.
In about 7 years, all the cells in a body are replaced.
The former addict is now a ‘clean addict’.
Brain cells always retain established thought patterns, and must be re-programmed – this can be accomplished through repetition and practice; thought is a very light, diffuse energy, and easily changeable.
Unlike alcoholics, addicts can change.
An addict can become a ‘clean addict’, and a human -- being.
