We don't have to look far to see why our body system is exposed to a constantly growing endangerment: the acidosis (over-acidification) of our cell system. We are leading fast lives, eating fast food, and expose ourselves to high stress levels on a daily basis, convenience and other artificial foods, prescription drugs, and environmental pollution. All these facts contribute to acidosis, which also is a major cause of obesity (if our inner terrain is too acidic the body creates fat cells to protect our vital organs from tissue corroding acids). nnThe pH Test According to scientists around the world, even more important than counting calories and checking cholesterol levels is to get information about the pH of your blood and tissue. They now propose to make a test that may tell you more about your risk for sickness and actual state of health than any conventional blood test. This test is simple and easy and can be done at home using urine or saliva samples, and will tell you how alkaline or acidic your body system is. By using pH stripes and determining what your current body pH level is, most people will probably discover that their body's pH is overly acidic, which compromises vitality and overall health.nnnWhy pH Balance? Most of the foods of an average American diet produce an acidic pH. This acidity creates a favorable environment for pathogenic microorganisms that can compromise health dramatically. When we drink and eat acidic food, like sandwiches, burgers, muffins or coffee, our bodies are struggling to maintain its pH balance at 7.356. Indicators of this pH imbalance are not only overweight, but also allergies, arthritis and heart attacks. When we consume alkaline food or green food dietary supplements, cravings subside naturally and the acidity inside us is neutralized. Our body’s response to excess acidity is to store acid wastes in fat cells to prevent them from damaging vital organs – but once you alkalize your system with alkaline food the body releases acid wastes and burns excess fat off. Balancing your pH level means supporting a healthy metabolism, better functionality of every organ and easier weight control / weight management.nnAlkaline Water & Alkaline Foods Consequently, the body continually struggles to maintain its ideal pH, and demands a diet that is also slightly alkaline. The body's entire metabolic process depends on an alkaline environment. Our internal system lives and dies at the cellular level, all the billions of cells that make up the human body are slightly alkaline, and must maintain alkalinity in order to function and remain healthy and alive. Hydrating the body with alkaline water is equally important to create the proper balance of alkaline and acid forming foods. Alkaline foods are mostly vegetables, especially raw ones. Most alkalizing are wheat and alfalfa grasses, fresh cucumber and some kind of sprouts. Furthermore, fruits like limes, tomatoes and avocado also have an alkalizing effect to our body, same as most kind of seeds, tofu, fresh soybeans, almonds, or olive oil.nnAlkalizing the cell system with an alkaline diet Learning to recognize the signs of an acidic system and starting to alkalize the cell system with an alkaline diet are the keys to protecting yourself from sickness and disease, to increasing energy levels and to losing stubborn body fat. It can open the door to a whole new level of vitality and health. Increased energy, more effortless weight control, enhanced fitness, deeper sleep, increased resistance to flu and colds, less aches and pains, and improved mood and mental clarity are just a few of your rewards that come with optimizing the internal pH balance.
