In today’s world of latest and greatest fixes, it’s interesting to learn of age-old remedies that still provide the best source of health and vitality. While looking for natural health alternatives I’ve discovered some amazingly simple, effective, and inexpensive “remedies.”nnA couple of months ago a friend and I were talking about her fish tank. She was saying what a challenge it was keeping the pH balanced and that her fish were dying because of it. That’s when it hit me. I had a vague understanding of the human body’s need to maintain its pH balance but I had no idea how critical it is.nnI did some research about our pH balance and was amazed to learn how fragile we truly are. Just like my friend’s fish tank, when our pH levels become too acidic, our whole system gets out of whack. Acidic pH levels can be the cause of low energy, aches and pains, reduced immune response, accelerated aging, disease, and a whole lot more.nnMy energy had been low all my life but now I needed to find a source of sustainable energy I could live with. I had just launched a national campaign educating people about affordable, sustainable solar energy for their home and now I had to find affordable, sustainable energy for myself or I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the huge demand.nnI learned that maintaining my pH balance was the key to great health so I started looking for ways to do that naturally. I was thrilled to find a long list of great foods that naturally alkalize the body and help maintain a healthy pH balance. A few in particular are extra noteworthy.nnWe’ve all heard of the cleaning power of vinegar, but did you know that raw, unprocessed apple cider vinegar is extremely alkalizing for the body? It’s also a great source of potassium, the nutrient that gives our skin its elasticity. nnI used Bragg’s Raw Apple Cider Vinegar mixed in water to clear up dermatitis I’d had on my hands for years. I simply rubbed it on my hands in the morning and before bed at night and within weeks my hands were completely healed and younger looking than they had been in years! I have to admit, I was also alkalizing from the inside too.nnI was so elated I started using it on my face, neck, and chest too. Since I started alkalizing my body, I’ve been losing weight effortlessly. Now with the my raw vinegar skin tonic, I’m giving my self a “lift” everyday to ensure my skin doesn’t sag with the weight loss. It’s working! My skin is soft yet tone and clear, not blotchy like before.nnI bought the book Apple Cider Vinegar: Miracle Health System by Paul and Patricia Bragg and learned of many fascinating uses for raw vinegar. I drink it mixed in water several times a day to maintain an alkalized system. I put drops of vinegar mixed in distilled water in my eyes to improve my vision. I know that sounds weird but it’s working. I reduced my reading glasses from a 2.50 to a 1.0 and now I’m able to see better without them too. I also use a mixture of the raw vinegar with extra virgin olive oil as a massage oil to reduce cellulite. Yes! That’s working too!nnSome may scough at my suggestions but keep in mind I’m not trying to sell you anything. In fact, I’m telling you that you can take control of your own health by eating more alkalizing foods and doing so could lead to less need for potions and pills.nnI’ve created a list of alkalizing foods and I’m having fun creating great recipes. I share my recipes and food list with friends and they’re loving the results too. Visit www.tweakability.com if you’d like a free copy of my alkalizing food list and recipes.nnInteresting how I set out to create balance in our “outer” environment through The Green Team (my national campaign) and ended up creating balance in my “inner” environment. I’m introducing people to natural energy from the sun for their home and I found natural energy from food for me. I love how life mirrors our development!
