Everyone wants to know the answer to the question, "What is my purpose?" You have probably asked yourself this question numerous times throughout your life. I'm sure you've gotten plenty of input from parents, other family members, and friends about what you should do with your life, how you should live it, and what kind of person you should be. These people have great intentions, but how often have you allowed yourself to be led into something you knew wasn't right for you? How many times did you listen to someone else's idea of the kind of life you should lead and buy into their dream instead of your own? It seems very logical to become a doctor because your father and grandfather were doctors, or to teach because your mother and siblings are all teachers. But are you really in alignment with your soul purpose? When you are out of alignment with your purpose, you feel: • a lack of energy or motivation • always stressed, or fearful and anxiousrn• physical aches and pains that are stress-related; commonly headaches, or pain in the neck and shouldersrn• disconnected from Spirit When you are in alignment with your purpose, you feel: • energized and "in the flow" • at peace with a sense of clarityrn• in good physical healthrn• confident, competent, and powerfulrn• strongly connected to Spirit Have you ever made a decision in your life that you *knew* was absolutely the right choice? You may have gotten this feeling of warmth and joy in your heart, and you felt light and happy and on top of the world. Likewise, when making a bad decision, you may have gotten a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach or started to second guess yourself as soon as you made the choice. This is the barometer you should use to find your true purpose. If it's your career that you find completely unfulfilling, ask yourself, "If I could do anything in the world, what would it be?" Pay attention to the first answers that pop into your head and use your body barometer to measure how close it is to your soul purpose. The greater the feeling of joy and euphoria, the closer you are to your answer until you just *know* you've hit the nail on the head. Once you've figured out your purpose and make the decision to live it, you'll find that new paths open up to you. The Universe will start working toward making this a reality. You'll feel energized and passionate about your new life, and that energy will spill over into all areas of your life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It doesn't matter how old you are, what your current financial status is, or where you are in your career. If you truly want to fulfill your soul purpose in this life, it will happen as long as you're willing to work toward it.
