As we go through our daily lives, doing the things that keep us busy, it is easy to forget about giving to others. We forget even though we may be able to improve someone’s day with something as simple as a smile. For most of us this is a very easy thing to do.nnSmiles are irresistible, contagious and fun. If you don’t believe me, try it. Be a smiling maniac for a day. Share heartfelt smiles with everyone you see. Share extra big smiles with your family and friends. Look in the mirror and smile at yourself. At the end of the day, how do you feel?nnI heard a story once of a young women who was feeling total despair and hopelessness. She decided to kill herself by jumping off a bridge. As she walked to the bridge, someone, at total stranger, smiled at her. That one smile changed her mind. She realized there was hope and went on to live her life and tell this story. That’s the power of a smile. Sometimes you don’t even know how much of a difference you have made.nnUsually, the more smiles you give, the more you receive. We’ve all experienced being on the receiving end of a smile that has brightened our day. Research also shows that smiling keeps us healthy, improves our mood, and helps us live longer. Sounds pretty good to me.nnOf course, there are some people who are unhappy with the way their teeth look and do not like to smile. They are often unhappy and their entire lives, including career, romance, and social connections may be limited. nnFeeling good about yourself adds meaning to every day and every aspect of your life. When we smile, we actually create a hormone response in our brain that effects how we feel. Smiles express openness, pleasure and create a bond with those around you. nnIf the appearance of your teeth is preventing you, or someone you know, from sharing your smile with the world or limiting your experiences in life, be sure to see an experienced cosmetic dentist for an evaluation. Whether it is for a brand new smile or a few simple changes, there are many wonderful options for creating the smile you’ve always dreamed of.nnBITE OF WISDOM: There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. Albert Einsteinnn
