Facing Depression-A Natural Alte ative

I feel that it's safe to say that in our society today, depression is more common than many people realize. Depression can be exacerbated by other events and occurrences like abuse, heartbreak, betrayal, death of a loved one, divorce, being fired, lack of purpose, losing, failing, and so on. From listening to some of John Bradshaw's tapes, I've learned that if as children, between the ages of 3 and 5, we don't receive solid love, support, and nurturing, we don't develop certain neuro-links in our brains, resulting in a lifelong low-level depression that we are usually not aware of.
Intuitive counselor Geoff Brandenburg explains further: "What becomes wounded in these children is the ability to imagine emotional boundaries existing in a space around them and the freedom and permission to act on those boundaries when their body's innate knowledge tells them that they need to. This cripples the imagination, locks them into deficient relationships with life around them and seriously deprives them of creative and successful transitions as they grow into adulthood. This inevitably creates failure in relationships as relationships themselves must grow and create authentic transitions."
From my own experience, I know that I was unaware of my own low-level depression. I had learned all the compromising, avoidance techniques of pretending that I was a happy, well-adjusted, enthusiastic person---and everyone bought it. When I finally began a true psycho-spiritual/emotional healing process, the denial, suppression, self-abandonment, self-judgment, and self-punishment that I was acting out on myself because of being deprived of a loving, nurturing childhood hit me like a ton of bricks. Now, I was really depressed!
My healing process has been facilitated by a stable, loving, and supportive environment, guidance and counseling, breathwork, and finding the courage to risk going in and feeling my deeply buried wounds, and embrace and integrate them with gratitude. I further have been drawn to the beautiful, loving, healing forces derived from nature. It's too easy to get going on a healing path and then fall back into the old patterns and behaviors that have been ingrained in our psyches for so long. We're comfortable with the discomfort, so we drift back to our old ways. I was looking for something that could help with this.
What I found is a healing medium that is very gentle and can assist us in shifting our energy and re-patte
ing our subtle anatomy, supporting us in long lasting change and healthy growth. This subtly potent form of medicine is flower essences. Not to be mistaken with essential oils and aromatherapy which also provides a unique, natural form of healing and well-being, flower essences hold the vibrational healing pattern or capacity of a particular plant. This energy, when ingested, enters our circulatory and nervous systems, meridians, chakras, and subtle bodies to effect us multidimensionally. That means we are likely to experience healthy shifts and changes on spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical levels.
More specifically, there are essences that can address depression characteristics from this deep, etheric place of healing. Willow essence for example, can help us to work through fear, rigidity, and judgment by coaxing our strength with flexibility and gentleness, and promote optimism. Rock Fringe is a gentle heart stimulant for healing disappointment, hurt, loss, and rejection and promotes deeper trust and confidence in ourselves. Daffodil's vibration helps us to savor life, embrace change, and grieve.
Better yet, I have designed two High Octave Formulas that support people in working through depression. The Depression Formula helps rekindle positive mental attitudes, courage, faith, trust, and self-worth, bringing acceptance, love, psycho-spiritual balance, and opening to new life experiences. Then there's my Will To Live Formula, AKA "Hang In There Baby!". This one addresses disillusionment, hopelessness, and despair as well. It promotes a rebuilding process from feelings of loss, grief, and resentment to help realign, reawaken, and balance the soul at deep, vital energy levels so one can open to higher heart, mind, and sense of purpose.
Essences can be used on their own or in conjunction with just about any other natural healing product or program. Their influence is powerful, subtle and self-adjusting with results generally showing up after several weeks or possibly months. I strongly encourage people to explore and experience flower essence remedies for a wide variety of transformational and healthy purposes.
