Backyard Bird Watching If you like to watch the flitting, fanciful nature and playing of birds, you should know that bird watching in your own backyard can truly be entertaining. It's remarkable just how many different species you can see. If you've never noticed many birds in your yard, there are some things that you can try in order to attract them. With a couple of bird houses, different bird feeders and bird baths, it won't be very long before you've got some special visitors. If you want to add a birdhouse to your backyard, there is a real chance that birds will nest in it. They will not only visit every now and then, but if it feels secure and safe, they may choose it as the place to hatch their eggs. This would be a real treat because you may get a quick look at the baby birds periodically, or when it is time for them to begin flying. A birdhouse is not only a handsome decoration for the backyard, but it is a place the birds will adore too. There are certainly an assortment of sizes, kinds and shapes of birdhouses, and what you get is going to depend a lot on your personal taste. You'll find all sorts of different bird feeders out there, and most of them fall into one of three different categories. There are hoppers, tube feeders, and tray feeders. Tube bird feeders are shaped like a cylinder, with perches at the holes where the seed is accessed. Tube feeders are great for a variety of seed types, just as long as the holes are big enough for the feed to come through. Hopper feeders will attract birds that might be cautious about tray and tube feeders. For birds that are smaller, tray feeders are excellent. If it doesn't matter to you what kind of birds visit your yard, and you'd prefer to enjoy and appreciate whatever visitors show up, you can buy a general bird seed food. The majority of seed appeals to a number of kinds of birds, because it has many types of seed. If you prefer a particular species of bird to come to your backyard, then you should include a seed or food that is a favorite of that specific species. Bird baths are a wonderful addition to your backyard if you'd like to attract more birds. They love to splash in the water, and as long as it is clean, they'll love it even more. You can choose from the traditional bird baths, or you might go for something a little bit different, like a fountain that's solar powered. A bird bath with moving water will be appealing to birds that generally wouldn't come to your everyday fountain, like robins, warblers, humming birds and thrushes. Birds especially enjoy moving water, and it easily attracts them. Bird baths are also terrific looking as garden accessories. There are some people love bird baths for the fact that they make birds come very close. Bird baths are a great chance to take some wonderful pictures, and enjoy the birds' company. Implementing these three things will easily help make your backyard a bit more friendly for birds. Some other easy things you can add are crevices and openings for the birds to hide, and fragrant flowers. If they feel safe in your backyard, they should stick around longer. Have a fantastic time bird watching!
