Colon cleanse is on its way to becoming a popular health routine, especially among health enthusiasts and people who are interested in alternative medicine. A colon cleanse is extremely beneficial for curing a number of ailments like chronic constipation, acne, chronic fatigue, candida and almost all kinds of digestive tract problems. On top of this, a colon cleansing is carried out using natural methods, so it has no negative side effects. In case you feel that you need a colon cleanse and want to know more about it then read on for a description of the most basic regimen:nn1. The first step is to discontinue eating anything that contains excessive chemicals or toxins. Excluding foods that slow down the digestive system is also recommended. This includes all kinds of medicines, processed and junk food. So you should start by staying off unnecessary pills, processed and fatty foods, dairy products, tea, coffee, chocolates, candies and desserts. Start eating foods that are high in fiber content like bran cereals and organic fruit and vegetables and restrict your diet to 3-4 meals a day. Eat only as much as you require and do not overeat. Consume loads and loads of water and fresh fruit and vegetable juices without sugar. Some people fast before starting their colon cleansing diet, which is also known to be beneficial but is not a necessity.nn2. Start consuming bowel cleansing products. You can either go for a ready made natural product or make your own shake consisting of psyllium husk and bentonite clay. Both of these are natural ingredients that can be found in vitamin stores. You can also substitute activated charcoal in place of bentonite clay if you cannot get hold of it. Start drinking the psyllium husk and bentonite clay shake (P&B shake), which you can make yourself by adding a teaspoon of psyllium husk and a teaspoon of bentonite clay to a glass of water. Drink a glass of water after every glass of shake. Do not eat anything for two hours after consuming the shake.nn3. Drink a glass of P&B shake for the first three days, two glasses on the fourth and fifth day. Drink it three times on the fifth day, gradually increasing consumption to 4-5 times a day for days 8-14. Ideal times to consume the shake are a glass when you wake up, one each before lunch and dinner and another glass before going to sleep. Make sure that you keep drinking lots of water during this time. It is a good idea to take probiotics since a lot of good bacteria from your body also get flushed out along with toxins and wastes.nn4. You will have to keep consuming the shakes till you feel that you are rid of all your colon related problems or when you see mucoid plaque being excreted. You can continue taking this for even a month or two since there are no long lasting negative side effects. If you find making P&B shakes a nuisance, then use a readymade colon cleanser. In case you are doing a colon cleanse as a cure for acne then you might have to go in for liver flushes in order to get totally cured. Most practitioners also recommend that you go in for an enema or a colonic so as to clean your colon properly.nnOnce you clean your colon, you will start seeing positive changes instantly. You will get cured of constipation, bloating, candida, acne and colitis. At the same time, you will also notice an increase in your energy level and vitality. Most people also experience weight loss after a colon cleansing program.n
