Conquering the Impossible

“In all things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).nnIf you watch and listen to the media, you hear words and see images that produce and escalate fear in the hearts of people around the world. The people watch and listen to the media the more fear seems to overtake their minds and hearts. Christians are even participating in the recession and fear that is in the atmosphere of the world. This should not be so.nnThe Bible tells us that we are in the world but not of the world. In other words, we do not operate or function or think the way the systems of world operate. We are supposed to be operating from the kingdom of God. There is no fear, worry, doubt, lack, or insufficiency there! God rules and reigns in the heavenly realms and in the lives and hearts of His people.nnWe do not deny or hide ourselves from the reality of what is happening around us, the economy or anything else that ultimately affects all of us. However, the thinking about and behavior or response ought to be different. Our speech should be words of love, hope, and faith – faith that God can and does conqueror the impossible. Because He lives inside our hearts, we too, have world overcoming power to conquer the seemingly impossible situations in our personal lives.nnWe are to be the light that shines in a dark place. The world is looking dark and God does expect His people to show His love, offer hope, and exhibit faith. This is the time for the Church of Jesus Christ to rise up and be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are not to blend in with the world’s way of being and doing things. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. As Christians, we must genuinely believe that the Scriptures tell us.nnIs it impossible for our economy to turn around? Is it possible for the person to be healed? Is impossible for someone with AIDS or cancer to be completely healed? Is it impossible for a homosexual to become heterosexual? Is impossible to turn a failing marriage around?nnThe world would reply with a resounding NO because people in the world think it’s impossible. The Christian, on the other hand, answers with an empathic YES! “For assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain;’ move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20, NKJV).nnChristians are to walk by faith, not by sight. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:16, NKJV).nnnFaith is NEVER a passive act:nnFaith Sees (Heb. 11:1)nFaith Speaks (Rom. 10:8)nFaith hears the truth (Rom. 10:17)nFaith gains the victory (1 John 5:14)nFaith stands (Matt. 7:24, 25)nFaith walks (2 Corinthians 5:7)nFaith takes hold (Hebrews 4:14)nnPeople blame God a lot of the time for the condition of our world. The truth is people are the ones responsible. Lust for power, money, greed, immorality, and materialism has brought this nation to a low place. Yet, God is holding His people responsible for turning the circumstances and situations around in the world. Second Chronicles 7:14, 15 says, sums this matter perfectly. It says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to pray made in this place.”
