We have all heard the saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is", but is this really accurate?nnI don't believe it always is, and having beliefs like this can really prevent us from taking advantage of excellent opportunities that may come our way.nnNegative thoughts such as "I could never be successful in that" or "that is impossible" or "it's too good to be true are self defeating and prevent a person from living an abundant, fulfilled life.nnIt is easy to be a conformist, and do things the way most people do, but is it always the "right" way?nnFor example, if you have a home based business or are in network marketing, you probably made that decision because you want a better life for yourself and your family. Perhaps are tired of working for someone else, or don't want to have to ask the boss for time off or for a pay raise.nnHowever, we are conditioned to think from childhood that we must get a college education and then spend the next 40 years being an employee, instead of working for ourselves. After all, that is what most people do, and trying something different and not being concerned with what others think takes courage.nnPeople with an open mind and who are positive thinkers are the ones who will accept challenges and do things that most people won't. That means believing that if others can become successful and live the life of their dreams, so can they.nnPeople who believe "it's too good to be true" will dismiss any good opportunity that comes their way, but what happens if they are wrong? They miss out, and perhaps never get to fulfill whatever dreams and hopes they may have had.nnNo one wants to look back and think "I should have done this" or "if only I had known that" and live with regrets.nnIt is so much nicer to reflect and think "I'm so glad I did that" instead!nnWe must be open and willing to consider new things that we hear about. Of course, this doesn't exclude careful consideration and thought, and we shouldn't be impulsive either and jump at the latest thing, but once in awhile something may come along that if pursued can lead to a better future or help us to achieve a lot more.nnThinking positive and having an open mind doesn't guarantee success, but it definitely makes it easier to notice great opportunities when they come along. It will also bring more satisfaction to the work you are doing and can create new chances for fantastic success in your business.
