Woke up in a pretty mood. Its 6.00 in the morning. I tell myself: I love myself ! Nothing can go wrong today. I'm Ken Onu, the master manifestor! I understand the way the Law of attraction works. I know that all I have to do is keep the energy positive and I will attract like energy. Hey I have been doing this for umpteen years. Self confidence is my middle name! I know my stuff! nnIts now 7.30am. Francie ,my spouse reminds me that we have to remember to pay the customs bill.nnForbes, thats my son has to get up early, he works for me and my Office manager has been complaining that he comes to work too late. She feels its because he feels that he is the bosses son he can do what he pleases. I spoke to Forbes to set a good example at the office. He has to show respect to Nolma, the asst. Office manager. He doesn't look pleased but he says he will comply. nnn8.30am Francie drops me off at the Office. I let myself through the back door. I can't help but see some patients in the waiting area. They look at me with great expectation as if to say "hope we can come in right away to see you". I know that can't happen because Michelle, the office assistant hasn't cleaned my office yet. I'm cool, I'm Ken . Nothing can ruffle my feathers. 'nnNolma comes in . She says "Doc, I would like to get the cheques. Today we have to pay for the electricity, order lenses for the patients, get new uniforms for staff and pay some other outstanding bills." I tell myself "Hey I can handle this". Hmmm? Why am I feeling a bit uncomfortable? nnThen the phone rings and its Francie on the other line. She is upset because I took the new set of Sean Jean products we just received, before she could inventorize and price them. She starts to complain. I can handle this! I tell her she misunderstood me. She slams the phone down on me. Its 8.55 am. Several members of Staff have not arrived yet. Clinic starts in 5 minutes. Wendie comes in to ask a question, I glare at her and start to remind her of the project she did not finish yesterday. She responds in a hurt tone.nnFrancie calls again. I raise my voice. She slams the phone down on me again. Nolma comes in, I glare at her, she quickly steps back out. The phone rings again. I pick it up and shout at Francie. "Dont bother me!" It wasnt Francie, it was Mr Millet calling to wish me a great day.nnDo you get the point? Everyday, 24hrs a day...we set out to feel good. we know what we have to do , yet something, someone (or so we think) disrupts our beautiful harmony and sends us in a downward spiral.nnWere stressed , unhappy and angry. No matter how positive we may seem to be, these things happen from time to time. We have to make a herculean effort to override the bad feelings we may be having at that time. This is the reason why its so important to practice letting go. Accepting the world as it is. Dealing with the inner me (the Enemy) and not some outside object or event. nnIf you follow the feelings you have generated , or better yet the feelings that others have generated for you, you could get in trouble and your whole day could go wrong. Its so important to be aware of the thoughts you are thinking, to learn to control them and to guard them from outside influences. nnThis is how I worked to save the day from going awry:nnI stopped everything I was doing, asked for 10 minutes of peace. No calls. Nothing. I closed my eyes and started focusing on my breathing. I inhaled deeply and then gently let it out through my mouth. I continued focusing on my rhythmic breathing, thinking of nothing else but my breath. I felt myself getting calmer and calmer. nnAfter 5 minutes , I started to affirm that I love myself, appreciate myself, accept myself, approve of myself, believe in myself, respect myself and support myself. when the 10 minutes was up. Voila! Ken the cool dude, the master manifestor was back! I was happy, the patients were happy. my staff was happy! My wife? Well thats for when I get home tonight. :)nnNeedless to say, I had tanked up on love, joy, happiness and some other values. My tank was so full, I was now ready to give to others. You cannot give what you do not have! Do not allow external circumstances to control you! Be a creator of circumstances, not a creature of circumstances!
