The backbone of any business whether you work at home or work outside the home is the customer. If it weren't for customers you wouldn't have a business. You will always need to think about the customer's need before anything else. You ask why, because they could either make you or break you. What I mean by making or breaking you is if you don't keep the needs and wants of your customer top priority your business will go belly up before you know it. So always talk to your customers to see what it is they would like to have improved. Keep that communication open at all times. After they purchase something from you do a follow up call or send an email to if everything with that purchase is to their liking. Ask them at the time of that purchase did everything go smoothly and if not what could you do to improve it. Have surveys made up, let them fill them out to see what is being said about what they like or not like about how your business is run. Better yet if at all possible if you can see and talk to them in person is even better. I know they would really appreciate you taking out the time to greet them. This can be done only if you have a building you are working out of and not an online business. If you do have an online business and would like to make a follow up call after their purchase put it somewhere on your site where they can check mark if to let you know it will be alright to make that call. Keeping your clients happy and satisfied will make them want to come back again and again. What it boils down to just treat everyone like you would want to be treated. Great customer service is the best policy. I always continue to shop with companies that give me excellent service. I also recommend others to shop there also. Have patience and be considerate because you will come across someone who will be out of line. This too is part of any business. It's not always peachy king when running your own business. Just remember customers who do enjoy doing business with you will come back again and will tell others about your company. So appreciate your customers whether good or hard to deal with. Good customer service is the key to a successful life.
