Dads, Dreams, Maps, and Blueprints How Consciousness WorksnnI have always loved maps and blueprints of house plans. As a young, nature-loving, back-pack slinging woman, I had a drawer full of National Forest Maps arranged geographically from the Rockies of Northern Colorado and Wyoming down through Southern New Mexico and Utah. I’d decide on an area to explore, pull out the maps, set a start point and a finish point and off I’d go. By car, on foot or by boat—have map will travel. It was predictable, go this way, end up here, go that way and end up there. Same with blueprints, I could pour over blueprints of houses, imagine them being built, what they would look like and feel like in ‘real’ life. In 1996, while living in Northern New Mexico, a woman walked into my office looking for a naturopath for her sons. We made appointments for her sons and began talking. It quickly became obvious that we would become friends. There was something special about her. Within a few days I had lunch with her, met her family she shared that she was an Avatar Master, and gave me information about The Avatar Course. I went home with a book to read, Living Deliberately, and a week later she invited me to do an exercise from the ReSurfacing workbook, Transparent Beliefs. The results were remarkable. But I was skeptical, there was a lot of stuff out there. Was this just one more thing? I had the attitude that I had done it all and there wasn’t anything else out there. But I still wasn’t living my dreams, wasn’t really happy in my life, and felt like something was missing. Over the period of a few months, I decided to do the course. I was embarking on a new project of, developing a large naturopathic clinic and bringing in many other practitioners. I felt I could use all the help I could get to get clear about the project and get it off the ground. I was amazed by The Avatar Course. I was right, there wasn’tnanything out there it was all being created in me, not out there. I would never find it out there. These tools helped me open up to parts of myself I had never seen before. I saw how the beliefs I held had kept certain patterns in place, that is, until I was willing to change the beliefs and create something different. After the course, I began to enjoy my journey and my work began to change. I felt such appreciation for the work I did and compassion and gratitude for the people I served. I began to enjoy people for who they were, for their journeys, for their willingness and for their courage. I began to laugh more and to lighten up. I used the Avatar materials to explore ideas for the new clinic and to look at the beliefs operating in my mental blueprint. I handled my limiting beliefs about my ability and kept going. On the course, I remembered a belief that my Dad had shared with me when I was young, “put your mind to anything, take time to work it through and you can do anything you want.” That was a belief I was going to keep and use to empower my ability to create what I wanted in life. The clinic project began to come together, the physical blueprints were drawn up, then the walls, some interior decorating and within a few months of doing The Avatar Course, we opened the doors of the clinic. It was everything I had hoped it would be. While on course, I remembered another dream that I had for years was to build my own straw bale house. I wanted to buld it with other people on a piece of land in Northern New Mexico, preferably on the Rio Grande. I had no idea how to do this, how I would finance it or how it would work out. I had put it on my list of goals and personal primaries during The Avatar Course. I created the primary, handled my doubts and moved onto the clinic project and put it on the back burner. A year later some friends told me they were going to buy a four acre farm on the Rio Grande and invited me to join their small co-housing project. My primary was creating. Again I used the Avatar tools to look at my beliefs and handle my limitations about building my own house, i.e. did I deserve it? how could I create the money? I put my primary back in each time I felt the doubt. I poured over blueprints of small houses, arranging and rearranging walls, windows, doors, and closets until I had my plans the way I wanted them. By looking at the plans, it was easy to see options and get an idea of what the space would feel and look like after it was built. The house went up, the project was fairly straightforward. Follow the blueprint. Apply the beliefs concerning building a straw bale house and there you have it. A house that looked like and felt like the primary I had created two years earlier. Amazing! And I got to live the life I created in that house! WOW! The same is true with consciousness. We get to live the life we created by the beliefs we hold. Knowing the beliefs that are operating in an area of life is key when we are attempting to change something, like old patterns, break addictions, or re-design areas of life. With Avatar, we can explore our own unique, custom blueprint of consciousness and see how we originally designed it. Then we can use the Avatar tools to redesign the blueprint if we want and begin to experience something different. Settled in a new home, with a really nice clinic to work in, I began to think and feel beyond my personal life, to a broader purpose that asked the question: How could I better contribute in the world? I compassionately felt a need to ease the suffering in the world. I felt an idea begin to develop into a concept, and then it became clearer as I decided to create a way to serve the world and ease the burden. I began to livendeliberately, for the good of all, not just to satisfy my own needs. There is such a joy in connecting with family, people in the grocery line, others while walking the dog in the park, people in meetings at work. There are no strangers, only people I have yet to connect with and share a slice of life with. These people would love to know about Avatar. How can Avatar benefit these people? The question has changed from, What do I want to do next? to How can I help and contribute? It feels good to get outside of myself and create for the good of all. Thank you, Harry, for these amazing tools to design a life, a world, and an enlightened planetary civilization. Whether constructing on the physical plane, designing a life, or finding solutions for world challenges, these are the tools that I want to use to map out my course of action. And thank you, Dad for believing I could do anything I set my mind to. Joanie Kirk, FloridannAll content copyright 2007, Star’s Edge, Inc. EPC is a service mark of Star's Edge, Inc.
