What is anxiety? Many people nowadays who are faced with anxiety problem find themselves asking the same question. People who suffer from anxiety feel anxious or fearful when a situation arises that they are unsure how to deal with. Common Anxiety – the Symptoms People who suffer from anxiety may not realize that it is not the worst thing that could ever happen to them. In fact, it is part of the body's normal response for "flight or fight" where your heart races, your body sweats, you feel some tightness in your chest, feel like urinating more often, have difficulty swallowing or experience a dry mouth. It is when your body prepares for the release of the hormone called adrenaline which helps you contend with stressful situations. How Anxiety Can Become an Obstacle In Your Life Even though everyone feels anxiety at times, people with a real problem feel anxious even when there is no reason. People who suffer from the psychological type of anxiety often can not fall asleep because of their worries, and they might not even be able to pinpoint what those worries are. Symptoms of Psychological Anxiety
The following are symptoms of psychological anxiety:
  • trouble sleeping
  • feeling uneasy or anxious most of the time
  • you oftentimes feel ill-tempered

  • a feeling of disassociation from everything and everyone around you
The unceasing battle with anxiety can get even worse when an unexpected problem pops up. If you already fight with some added mental or emotional problem such as depression, you are more prone to have anxiety as well. Suicide is an alarming possibility when somebody suffers from one or more of these problems. Causes of Anxiety Disorder An individual who struggles with alcohol dependence or depression may demonstrate anxiety as a symptom of their other problem.
Researchers have found that one of the following factors usually has played a role in the development of anxiety:
  • Genetics - Disorders such as anxiety tend to be in the gene pool for particular families.
  • Makeup Of the Brain - Certain lifestyle choices, such as drug use, may change the levels of chemicals in the brain, causing anxiety.
  • Personality - Individuals who can not seem to deal with daily stresses, or who do not feel decent about themselves overall, have an increased chance of developing anxiety.
  • Life Experiences - There is a marked influence of exposure to violence, abuse and poverty to development of anxiety. Any variety of traumatic experience in your life can lead to the development of anxiety.
