Dr. Bennett is a licensed psychologist who founded Postpartum Assistance for Mothers in 1987 after her second undiagnosed postpartum illness. She is the immediate past President of Postpartum Support International and a past President of Califo
ia’s state organizatio
Postpartum Health Alliance. She is a noted guest lecturer, and her work has been the subject of numerous newspaper articles around the country.

Dr. Bennett has a wide range of experience. For fifteen years prior to her current profession, Dr. Bennett was a college instructor in the fields of Special Education, Early Childhood Development, Rehabilitation Therapies and Psychology. In addition to three teaching credentials, she holds her second Masters degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Counseling.

Being a highly sought-after guest lecturer, Dr. Bennett has also been a featured guest on national radio and television shows, including ABC’s “20/20”. Dr. Bennett travels extensively throughout the country presenting keynote addresses at conferences, training medical and mental health practitioners, and leading workshops for all those helping pregnant and postpartum women.

Dr. Bennett is co-author of Beyond the Blues: A Guide to Understanding and Treating Prenatal and Postpartum Depression and the author of Postpartum Depression for Dummies. She has also created a hypnosis audio program called Beyond the Baby Blues.
