What you get out is what you put in. Life rewards action. nnRay Kroc, Executive and founder of McDonalds said, “Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get”nnA few years ago I had an amazing “Aha” moment. I was in sales for a wholesale mortgage company. My job was to visit all of the retail mortgage brokers in my territory. I would drive around all day to these different offices to see if they had any loans that fit my company’s criteria. I remember one day making call after call and getting nothing. After visiting 20 offices in person and making I don’t know how many phone calls just to end up after 7pm and have no loans to take back to my office. Imagine how frustrating it was to work so hard to not see any results. I’m sure most of us have experienced that at some point in our lives. nnI remember driving home feeling annoyed that I had nothing to show for my efforts. I did work hard, all day and I had my notes to prove it, but I had no loans. Feeling defeated I called it a day and went home. The next day I went to my office and was planning my day. Someone came into my office and handed me the submission report for that morning. Knowing I wouldn’t have any since I had nothing given to me the previous day, I set it aside without looking at it. nnLess than an hour later I was heading out the door to go back out into the field, when someone said, “Nice work Shar. What’d you do working from dusk til dawn yesterday?” I replied with “What are you talking about? I was out in the field for almost 11 hours yesterday and got nothing.” The person I was talking to said, “Well, something you did worked because the submission log has your name all over it.”nnI grabbed the report that I was so quick to dismiss earlier to find that my name was all over it. I had eight submissions that day. All the sudden I realized effort equals reward. The loans I had received in that morning were from places I had not seen or spoken to the day before. I had made the effort and put the energy in one area but the rewards came to me from another area. At that moment the words “energy equals rewards” came into my head. I had heard that before, but now I had the proof. Energy out, energy in. nnWhat’s the point you, may be thinking. The point is life rewards action. If you want something to happen in your life, you have to take action to make it happen. Keep in mind that sometimes life has bigger and better things in store for you. Simply keep on making the efforts toward the things you want and that effort will be rewarded, just not necessarily in the same way that you expect. nnKeep on making the efforts toward the things you want, somehow or another you will ultimately get what you are looking for. nnFor more information visit our website www.sharspeaks.com
