Ellen’s life is sure looking up these days. Her talk show is popular. She’s gotten a much sought after gig as a judge on American Idol. She even got Oprah to put her on the cover of O Magazine. Could things be going any better? Well, yes. She’s in a loving relationship and just seems to exude joy and fun. What a difference from the time when she “came out” and everything seemed to fall apart for her. What’s up with that? How did things change so much for her? rnIn a 2009 Commencement Speech at Tulane University, she talks about where she was at when everything fell apart in her life. How, although she had a successful sitcom, she felt she wasn’t being authentic because no one knew she was gay. Ellen had a lot of fear energy going at that time - if people knew she was gay they wouldn’t like her, they wouldn’t laugh anymore, and they wouldn’t watch her sitcom. “I was living with so much shame, and so much fear, that I just couldn’t live that way anymore, and I decided to come out and ‘free myself up’ from this heaviness that I was carrying.” Her worst fears were realized. She lost her sitcom, and, according to her, her phone did not ring for three years. Are all the Gay Bashers Dead? Ellen’s situation is one of the most succinct examples of how the Law of Attraction works. How could her reality change so much in three years? Who is responsible for this reality changing? Did all the anti-gay people die and go away? Hardly. They recently repealed the gay marriage law in California. The gay haters are alive and kicking, and, apparently, many are living in California. So if no outside forces changed, then the only thing that changed is Ellen. The Universe, which doesn’t listen to words, but reacts to the energy of our thoughts and emotions, did what it always does. It brought Ellen manifestations that matched her energy. When she was feeling fear about the judgment of others, the universe found that match in the others who were judging. Same frequency. She couldn’t match up to the millions who don’t give a hoot about sexual orientation, because she wasn’t a match to them. She was the one that focused her thoughts away from what she wanted into what she didn’t want. Law of Attraction works with the energy we are emitting. When your focus is on what you don’t want, you will get what you don’t want. The gay bashers are still out there. Ellen is just not a match to them anymore, so she is not attracting those people. Wouldn’t Change a Thing Ellen says she wouldn’t change a thing about her past, and who could blame her? She’s come out of it thriving and living the life she’s always wanted to live. When we are in the midst of circumstances we vehemently don’t want, there is an equal energy of what we do want emanating from us. We have summoned so much energy, and if we can quit focusing on what is, and, instead, focus doggedly on where we want to be, things will turn out just as magnificently for us as they have for Ellen.
