Finding The Right Baby Products

When I got pregnant, I thought that I was ready for everything. I had a plan for maternity leave, I had already signed up for Lamaze classes, and I had even chosen the colors for the nursery. However, I was not prepared for the challenge of finding safe, environmentally-friendly baby products. A friend sent me an article that discussed about organic and natural baby products and I had no idea that this was an issue that I needed to be concerned about before I read the article. The dyes used to make most baby maternity products can contain chemicals that are dangerous to a baby’s delicate skin. Additionally, some product manufactures use chemical pesticides, formaldehyde and other chemicals that can hurt both the earth and my baby. I wanted to support a retailers that used environmentally conscious practices, but it took a while to find a good one. Some of my friends were so worried about chemicals in baby clothes that they were purchasing organic and natural materials and making baby products themselves. I knew that this was not a solution that would work for me. First of all, I do not even know how to do this and secondly, I knew that once the baby arrives I would no longer have time for that. Fortunately, I found some great brands of safe, organic baby products online. They were chemical-free and affordable, which was important to me. Also, products for the hair, body and skin are best for the health if they are natural and organic ingredients, for example, no harsh detergents or surfactants in shampoos or bath gel and no mineral oil or petroleum products in massage oil or body lotion. Sunscreen should also be made with natural ingredients and no harsh chemicals to damage skin. Now that I have found a good source for safe baby products, I feel as if I have everything under control once again. Of course, I am certain that there will be new challenges, but I am confident that I will be able to continue finding earth-friendly and safe solutions to any problem.
