I know how annoying this can be because I was once that skinny person not too long ago. It seemed like no matter what I did I could add a few extra pounds. To make matters worse everything out there is about losing weight and not gaining it. I'd like to share 4 tips that I hope can help you out. Tip #1- The first tip to gain weight is ask yourself if you're willing to pay the price that it takes. Most people think that it should be easy but you're going to struggle just like those who are trying to lose eat. Do you have the time to work out? Do you have the money to buy the extra food you're going to need? Do you have the time or the place to be able to eat 5-6 small meals each day? Now that you know what it's going to take you have to ask yourself if it's really worth the effort. For me it was the best thing I ever did. Tip #2- The next tip is to start eating like an elephant. If you're already eating a lot and not gaining it means you have an extremely fast metabolism. One day you'll be grateful for it but for right now it's your worst enemy. Most people are shocked when I show them how much they really need to eat. The formula I use to see how much you need to eat is to multiply your weight by 20 and that will give you the number of calories you need to eat each day. As you can see it's probably a lot more than you've been eating before. Tip #3- The next thing is to make sure that you're exercising properly. What I mean by this is that you need to focus more on weight training and less on doing cardio. Doing cardio is what you need to do if you want to gain weight not lose it. By lifting weights you'll increase your appetite which is a good thing because it'll make you want to eat like a horse throughout the day. It will also help you gain muscle tone instead of a bunch of extra flat. When you eat a whole bunch you need to make sure you're doing exercise too. Tip #4- The last thing is that you have to realize that you can't have it both ways. What I mean by that is that you have to understand that you can't be a marathon runner and expect to add 20 pounds. You can't even be someone that plays basketball 5 days per week and expect to add weight. If you're having trouble gaining weight than doing a lot of activity can be detrimental to your success. This doesn't mean I want you to be lazy but it means that you need to cut your activity by half if you ever want to start gaining weight.
