You’ve probably heard over and over again how important it is to get yourself on the Internet and begin the process of social networking when you’re in the middle of conducting an executive job search. Well, even more than keeping a social networking profile alive during this time is doing it all the time.

Getting on board with social networking definitely requires a commitment, which is why some just don’t like to do it. But if you keep it up while in the middle of your busy executive-level job search, you’re likely to land a job quicker. And if you keep it up even after you’re employed, you’re likely to keep your networking group alive in the event that you decide to switch jobs.

How long does a commitment like this take? Only few minutes a day. In that time, you’ll find that your life as an executive job seeker (or employee) will be enhanced tenfold.

How a Few Minutes Enhances Your Job Searchr
In a world where changes are the order of the day, it’s important to stay on top of the social networking realm. For the most part, this is pretty easy as a job seeker because you have a little bit more time on your hands to sit and post on the web. The good news is that it only takes a few minutes to update your various social networking sites.

So what types of updates would you want to offer? You might create a quick blast to let members of your friends list know you’re looking for a job and post a link to your resume and or professional profile. Also you could consider blasting a link to a blog post you’ve created so that you can keep your fan base committed to your blog (if you have one).

Taking the time to create these updates will cost you no more than about 15 minutes per day. And by doing so every day, you have an opportunity to reach people who may not have signed in the day before - people who may have your golden opportunity in the palm of your hand.

How a Few Minutes Enhances Your Executive Careerr
Once you obtain your fabulous executive-level job, the dedication to your social networking life should not come to an abrupt halt. Of course, you’ll be busy, but just as you want to maintain a connection with your offline networking group after you’ve acquired a job, it’s good to do the same with your online group.

If you have a blog, you definitely want to continue making blog posts as you did before you were once again employed. But even keeping up with your Facebook and Twitter status updates is good. You could continue to give updates on your professional life, or even give updates on the family. The idea is to keep in contact with everyone so that the connection is genuine and one that stands the test of time.

There’s no doubt that being an executive job seeker keeps you busy. But by giving about 15 minutes of your time to social networking each day, you could see a dramatic improvement in your search - one that could result in a great job opportunity in the near future.
