Appearance is something that seems to be ever more important. How we look, the clothes we wear, the fashions that we embrace all serve to say a lot about ourselves.

When you have nails that are bitten down to the quick you can find yourself going to great lengths to try and hide your hands from the beady eyes of outside observers. You can find yourself feeling distinctly uncomfortable when signing documents or paying for groceries in your local market. Most people who bite their nails are not proud of this habit and wish that it were not so obvious to the casual observer.

But what does nail biting say about you? It doesn't actually say anything other than you have a bad habit that you have not yet found a way to overcome or have not taken the time to conquer. Nail biting is just pure habit. There is no beneficial side effect to this habit. It doesn't do anything for you.

In this fact, nail biting is quite different from most other habits that it is often compared with. A smoker will find a benefit or two to show for his or her habit. A person who gives in to chocolate cravings on a habitual basis will also be able to list some benefit. But with nail biting, I doubt anyone could hand on heart find any real benefit to this habit.

The annoying thing about a habit is that it is something that is undertaken without any logical or conscious thought or intent. In the case of biting your nails, you just do it and your conscious awareness clicks in only when it is too late. The damage has been done. Your nails have been savaged once again.

Thus to interrupt the cycle of this habit, you have to find a way in which to access the part of your mind where automatic actions are processed and triggered. The automatic processing center is found within the subconscious mind as opposed to the conscious logical thinking part of your mind.

Hypnosis is a tool that allows you to do just this. Contrary to the popular belief or expectations of many with regard to hypnosis, you do not lose control. Rather, you gain control as hypnosis allows you to access your subconscious mind.

Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation that allows you to access your subconscious mind. It has no negative side effects and is quick to use. Simply by listening to a hypnosis mp3 download you can access the inner automated workings of your mind and change their present flow.

Suggestions can be made to change your responses to the triggers that used to set in motion the habit of nail biting. A new habit can be triggered in it's place, one that promotes a feeling of enjoyment in being able to see and feel your beautifully manicured and elegant looking nails.
