My husband absolutely loves lemonade. He’s constantly on the lookout for the best – and now he’s found it! This is a deliciously refreshing drink. Michigan’s weather has turned sweltering – and we’re all doing what we can to keep cool. Lemonade is a perfect drink, as it’s good for you. Lemons are high in Vitamin C, and have lots of other trace vitamins and minerals. Since this recipe starts from fresh lemons, it’s a very healthy alternative to other beverages. Homemade Lemonade Recipe rnIngredients: rn2 cups sugarrn1 cup hot waterrn2 cups freshly-squeezed lemon juice (about 12 lemons) How to get the most juice from a lemon rn1 gallon cold waterrn1 lemon, slicedrnMint sprigs, for garnishrnDirections:rnStir sugar and hot water over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and pour into a large container. Add the lemon juice and enough cold water to render 1 gallon. Stir well until mixed. Pour lemonade into glasses of ice, squeezing one slice of lemon into the top of each glass. Garnish with sprigs of mint.
