Camping is an amazing outdoor activity for kids as well as for adults. It involves lot of fun filled physical activities. If a group of kids are planning to camp at the woods or at a sanctuary, they need to make huge plans like getting permits to camp, buy expensive tents, backpacks, first aid kids, tinned foods, and so on, the list is endless. The kids also worry about the animals out in the wild and often feel concerned about being lost from the group. Camping at such places can be fun but kids can’t do this often, and who has the time today to spend a whole week at the camp?rnBut have you ever thought of having all the fun at the camp just behind your backyard? You can have a camp fire if you got enough space, but precautions have to be taken that the smoke doesn’t pollute the environment and disturb the neighbors. Parents should make sure the kids doesn’t scream and wake up the neighborhood. Instruct them to keep their radios or TV volume as low as possible. With limited space, kids can have unlimited fun.rnSome precautions that need to be taken is that, the garden has to be cleaned properly before organizing the camp. All debris has to be removed, check for any glass or metal pieces that could be poking out of the grass. See that no fertilizers or pesticides are sprayed over the lawn before the camp. If any wiring is made, check that they are well installed using a protective piping to prevent any short circuits or someone might even trip over the wires. Turn off the lawn sprinklers, if you have one; also see that water doesn’t keep leaking.rnWhat kids can do at a backyard camping? A parent can organize a story telling session, narrating stories can be very exciting for kids; these stories can be part of their school curriculum. If you had installed a TV, kids can watch cartoons or any interesting documentaries on animals. Star gazing can also be an interesting activity; parents can rent a good telescope to check out the night sky where kids can learn so much about the constellations, stars and planets. It is always best to avoid activities that involve writing and reading as it would be a strain for the eyes in dull lighting.
