These sites merely improve your online presence. So, if a hiring manager looks for a particular type of person, you can easily be noticed only if you used the right keywords on your profile. Fundamentally, the concept of utilizing social networking tools on your job search is to market your personal brand more efficiently. Obviously, you have to show your potential employers that you are technically fit. However, sites like Twitter cannot improve your personal branding. Basically, you need to Google your name first. To secure your name will surface with positive points, you might have to step-up your online presence through blogging and article writing. This process is known as reputation management and it is relatively important as it can be harmful to your success. In general, social media tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter have overturned the job search process. They have shifted people view about networking. But then, face-to-face interaction is still very important. At the end of it all, direct human connection still matters and it will still affect your job search more.
