They usually cause the damage during the night and it is difficult to find them because they are usually buried in the ground. They prefer to feed on young seedlings therefore you should look out for them early on. To deal with snails and slugs, you can use some eggshells or sawdust on the ground. Their skins are sensitive therefore they cannot move on these materials. Caterpillars can also cause a lot of damage in your garden and ruin the look you want to achieve or even your crops. To identity this pest, look for any webbing or curled leaves. They prefer to feed on stems, flowers, fruit, and leaves. If you notice the presence of caterpillars, you can remove them manually and then use some grease on the leaves to prevent them from climbing up.
