How to make Honey Apple pancakes

One of the most delicious homemade pancakes are honey apple pancakes. I discovered this recipe quite a long time ago, when I was visiting my grandmother. She invited me to drink some fresh coffee and she mentioned that she had prepared something special. And indeed honey apple pancakes are special ones. I’ve never tried to add anything to my homemade pancakes and today I know it was a big mistake. Nowadays, always when I have a taste for something sweet, I make homemade pancakes. It is a very cheap way of satisfying your sweet tooth. Moreover cooking pancakes and experimenting with them, gives me a lot of satisfaction and good time. As I am trying to lead rather healthy lifestyle, I always add some nutritious value to my homemade pancakes. Sometimes I omit sugar or use oatmeal or coconut flour instead of wheat flour. It is a great solution for those who are on a low carb diet. Here I present the standard recipe for honey and apple pancakes. But you can try to use other ingredients: try buttermilk instead of milk, sweetener instead of sugar and healthier flour instead of wheat one. Ingredients:
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of oil to grease the frying pan
How to make honey apple pancakes:
  1. Take a medium bowl and stir together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and apple pie spice.
  2. Take a separate bowl, and stir together egg, honey, apple juice and melted butter. Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until combined. Don’t mix too long. There should be some lumps remaining in the batter.
  3. Heat a frying pan or a griddle, and coat it with some oil. Heat the frying pan over the medium high heat.
  4. Pour ¼ cup of the batter onto the frying pan or griddle and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Turn the pancake and again cook until golden brown.rnServe warm.
