Learning new things and acquiring knowledge is undoubtedly an exciting pursuit. However, there are times when things feel a bit stressful, especially when the exams are around the corner or there is a major assignment to be completed on time. Well, stress is a natural occurrence, and it happens to all of us during such crucial hours of our lives.
However, the key to success is not to let the stress get to you and rather focus on ways to control the physical and emotional manifestations of stress. After all, you wouldn't want to let worries and tension during the study hours impact your academic performance, right? Keeping this issue in mind, we, at Delhi Public School Kota, positioned among the top 10 schools of Kota, have brought forth today a few tips for our young budding geniuses to help them effectively reduce stress during the learning hours.
Work in shorter bursts for better concentration
We understand that studying without a break for hours would make even the most unwavering concentration to shake a little. So, our advice would be to take a break of ten to fifteen minutes after every forty-five to sixty minutes of studying. But make sure you use the break time wisely to truly give your mind and body an actual rest. You can try stretching, grabbing a healthy snack, or even take a short stroll.
However, getting glued to a smartphone screen and letting those fifteen minutes become thirty minutes or more would eat into your study time and eventually add to the stress. So be aware of spending your break time sensibly.
Do not lose your sleep over learning stress
Do you know that brain activity tends to slow down at night so that all the crucial information learned during the day gets processed? This shows that sacrificing a good night's sleep for more hours of studying is not much of a good idea. Your brain would be slow to process all the information you feed it during this time, and that would only make you worry more. So, keep away those books on time and hit the bed for a sound sleep.
Create a realistic study plan and stick to that
Being the mentors and guides of young minds as one of the top 10 schools of Kota, we, at DPS Kota, can vouch for the fact that having a study plan will not only remind you of the chapters that you need to learn and the ones that you have completed but also help in avoiding procrastination. However, in order to ensure that both these aspects are taken care of, you will have to keep that study plan realistic. You will need to factor in all activities and commitments that you have, starting from exercising, playing, or even watching your favorite show. At the end of the day, you would not want to add to your stress by failing to stick to a painstakingly made study plan.
Indulge in regular exercising to get your heart pumping
Regular exercising increases the release of happy hormones in the brain that thereby aids in controlling stress and anxiety. Besides, it also contributes to improving mental awareness and concentration. To add to that, exercising also helps to improve sleep timing and pattern, which further works to reduce the stress levels.
Seek help whenever you feel the need for it
We are not expecting you to understand every detail straightaway or master every branch of knowledge without missing a beat. It is completely fine if you are unsure of a thing or two in those books or if you just need to talk to someone to relieve the stress. You are always welcome to come and talk to us about any difficulty that you might be facing. In fact, you should also talk to your classmates about it because they might help you with suggestions on how they are studying it or keeping the stress away.
