Chandigarh, also known as ‘the city beautiful’ is a city located in the Northern India and is also a union territory in India that serves as a capital of two different states, Haryana and Punjab. The city is one of the first planned cities of the country after the independence. Three major trade promotion organizations are in the city namely, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI),and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).Also the Chandigarh IT Park is also situated in Chandigarh that is a starting by the private organizations to create an IT hub in the city. In the 2009 survey the city of Chandigarh ranked ninth as the emerging outsourcing and IT services destination.
The city has shown an impressive change in the education field by founding a number of institutes, impartingquality education to the students who are coming here and take admission in different education institutes. Some known universities and educational institutions of the city are as follows, Punjab University, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology, Chandigarh College of Architecture, Guru Gobind Singh College, Government College for Girls, MCM DAV College for Women and the Government College for Men.
