When I first started my coaching business, I was 110% committed to making it work. I kinda had to be because I’d cut off all other options and safety nets and promised my family that I’d made the right decision. I was convinced that God had led me in this direction and He confirmed this by opening doors for me and connecting me the right people at the right time. In spite of all this, 6 months into the new venture all my work dried up and I had zero clients and therefore zero income. On top of this, there was a glitch in my website which meant that no one could sign up to any of my offers and no one knew how to fix it.

The craziest part of this very stressful time was that I felt like it was God who was in my face stopping me, not the Devil. That made no sense to me, because it was God who opened up the opportunities in the first place and I couldn’t understand why He would change his mind. I cried out to Him on numerous occasions to come to my rescue and fix my situation, but nothing happened for three whole weeks. Finally in desperatio
I stopped praying the prayer of anxiety and decided to listen to what God was saying to me.

It turned out that He wanted me to make some changes in my life before He was willing to open the doors again and bless what I was doing. Internal changes unlock exte

Although this was such a difficult time for me, God proved His love for me by pulling me to a holt until I made the changes. If He had continued to let me carry on as I was, I would end up hurting myself by living unsustainably. Of course God wants me to grow and prosper, but he is more interested in building my character in the process and enlarging my capacity as a person so that I can contain what He wants to do in my life.

I discovered that God wanted me to address three things.
1. Make sure Church was priority over business.
2. Make sure I’m smoking what I’m selling.
3. Develop a rhythm of rest starting by taking a day off each week.

As soon as I made the changes, everything opened up again. A mate of mine happened to stumble across the problem with my website and fixed it in about 30 seconds, I picked up 9 new individual coaching clients in the next two weeks, and my work with the employment agencies all of a sudden started up again. It was incredible!

The natural tendency when things stop working well is to get frustrated and just push harder on the doors, yet whenever I step back and listen to what God is asking me to change internally instead, everything else seems to work out fine. God has astounded me by just how many things He has open up that previously seemed too big or too hard all because I’d been prepared to deal with the things in my life that God had put His finger on.
