An act or thought that unintentionally deviates from what is right or true. This is the formal definition for slip-up. To slip-up should never be thought of as a failure to accomplish something. I am quite certain that many of us would agree that many mishaps we may have been involved with in the past have led us to not only negative but positive experiences. If at first you do not succeed, try again. We can never prosper unless we first taste defeat. These are a couple sayings that come to mind. I want to share with you my take on how to slip-up with guaranteed success.
First off, it is important to realize that success is really just an attainment. It doesn’t matter what kind or type of success you are looking for in your life. It is merely an attainment that you wish to conquer. I am going to break down the word SLIP-UP for you and simply explore it a bit and share with you how it helps me to stay focused and remain on the prosper train. In today’s blog I am going to expand on the S, in slip-up.
The S stands for Serve. I do not care what religion or spiritual backround you have, but to serve another is of utmost priority in self advancement. Thats right, self advancement. One may be able to find success in life while overlooking the sanctity of serving others first, but will not be able to sustain success without it. In order to succeed in life we need help from others. It can not be done by ones self and maintained for any length of time. Help is a must. It is common knowledge that like causes create like effects. If you smile, you will get a smile in return (lets hope). If you lend someone a helping hand, a favor in return is just around the corner. Do unto others, as you would want done for yourself.
I have personally found that I have selfish tendencies which have followed me for many years. I want this and I want that. Does this sound familiar? On a daily basis I strive to set my personal selfishness aside and look to serve others first. I am fortunate because my wife is the least selfish person I know and we do become products of whom we surround ourselves with. I want everyone who reads this to realize that it is okay to force yourself at first to look for opportunities to serve someone else. The forcing creates a habit, and a habit which will reward you in many ways. We all need to understand that in order to find success in our lives we need to change. That is of course if you are not fully satisfied with your present surroundings.
I guarantee you that if you begin to look to serve the interest of others before your own, then you will begin to see doors open to whatever success you desire. Don’t knock it if you have never done it for a month straight. Give it a try. My next post will tackle the L.
Make it the Best Day Ever!!
