You know, it's funny. Even with the perils that many celebrities have encountered by undergoing plastic surgery, many people still assume that going the route of the knife is the only way to go to battle the process of aging. Oh, how wrong they are! As I discussed in my last blog, Juvederm fillers have been smoothing out wrinkles in ways that plastic surgeons could only dream about. But, of course, many people have many questions about the fillers, as they have not yet made themselves as popular as the almighty facelift. Let's be brutally honest, here. Does anyone really want to end up looking like Joan Rivers? Ideally, we'd all like to remain young looking. Juvederm – unlike facelifts – helps you to do so in a very natural way. In fact, there are treatments known as soft lifts. This type of procedure uses Juvederm fillers to treat wrinkles and add facial volume that helps to fight off the signs of aging. So, in a way, Juvederm is a kind of superhero! Especially since it fights off wrinkles in 3D. Well, not exactly. But it DOES battle the 3 D's of aging! The 3 D's of skin aging, as explained by DermMedica.ca (Juvederm in Kelowna) are deterioration, descent and deflation. These 3 D's represent our villains, if you will. And for many people, their destructive ways must be put to a halt for the good of facial skin everywhere! Deterioration refers to fine lines, wrinkles and skin texture changes. In my last blog, I discussed my friend Violet's battle with her laugh lines. It seems that in her case, deterioration was the culprit. Evidently, one's age doesn't necessarily have to play a factor in the appearance of such lines, as Violet is a still a young woman in her early 30's. Descent refers to droopiness or sagging skin. Quite often, we would associate this look with the older population. But that doesn't mean that descent is any less a villain than deterioration. People tend to look tired or depressed when their skin sags. A loss of collagen due to aging is usually at play here. Deflation refers to a loss of fullness or volume. Because Juvederm fillers help to restore the production of collagen, deflation is no match for our hero. It should be reiterated that without going under the knife, patients are able to restore a naturally young look through receiving Juvederm injections. This is important for one's overall health. Juvederm is a superhero indeed. But, as always, be sure to consult a physician if you have any questions about your skin conditions and the treatments that may aid them. A facelift is not necessarily the way to go. In fact, it simply shouldn't be an option now that there is a much more natural way to win the war against wrinkles!
