Did you know that out of 100 new websites, only one will make it? Sobering, isn't it? If you are like me, you stumbled on to the internet, heard stories of those who made millions and decided that this was your chance! You were going to take the ecommerce world by storm.

Chances are, you threw yourself into your new business, spending a lot of time (and probably money too) coming up with the perfect website, the perfect product that was going to make you rich. When you were done, you launched your new business AND...nothing.

You did not become rich, only discouraged. You didn't have visitors pour into your new website. If you were lucky, you had a trickle.

What happened? Why could others do it, but not you? Are their stories real or is it all a conspiracy?

My friend, you are not alone. In fact, you are in good company. Sadly enough, there are thousands just like you.

So is it possible to make money on the web?

I'm here to tell you, that yes, it is possible. Not easy, but very possible. You just need to master the big three.

The big three? What are they?

They are the essential steps for building a successful web business.

STEP 1 -- Develop a great product - position it for Web sales.

This is a crucial step, but the most controllable. This one is all up to you. If you already have a great product, wonderful, move on to step two. If not, please, don't move on. Take this step seriously and make the time to develop your idea further.

STEP 2 -- Build a site that really sells.

You may wonder, how do I know if I have a site that sells? Maybe you have an existing web site and you have no idea whether your site works or not, but you haven't attracted many visitors. Maybe your site works and you just need to drive traffic to your website. How do you know?

Ask yourself these questions-

Can people tell what my Most Wanted Response is? In other words, when someone arrives at your website, do they wander around aimlessly, or can they clearly see what it is that you want them to do?

Does your site Develop Trust and Likeability? Are you honest with your visitors or is your website a blatant attempt to stuff your product down their throat?

Have you written powerful, compelling sales copy, starting with your biggest gun?

Do you have a tight, simple-to-use, easy-to-navigate site?

Do you have these two critical sales-builders -- testimonial and guarantee pages that convince?

Is there digital fulfillment -- do you sell downloads such as e-books, reports, data, music, with ease and security?

Do you have an irresistible path to your "Closer Page,"?

Before you move on, take some time to really think about and apply these essentials of a successful website.

STEP 3 -- Attract targeted traffic to the site.

Do you have a plan for attracting visitors to your website? No matter how great your product and website are, you must have visitors if you want to sell anything. There are many great strategies out there designed to drive traffic to your website. Take some time, do some research and figure out what works for you.

There you have it, the three steps to building a successful business online. If you master these three steps, you cannot, will not fail.If you master only one, you will fail. Even if you master two out of three, you are still doomed. All three are essential. And take your time - success dosen't happen ove
