In my last article, I talked (or maybe “complained” to be more accurate) about the various requirements of women to keeping a smooth body. The tedious chores of shaving and waxing were discussed and, as you can imagine, were not mentioned with very much affection. I, like most women, find both tasks to be harrowing ones that only produce short-term results. Basically, for what shaving and waxing provide, they don’t seem to be worth the frustration. Julyne Derrick of About.com knows what I’m talking about all too well. I reviewed an article she wrote that describes many of these sentiments. Because of her frustration with shaving and waxing, she decided to go ahead and get laser hair removal treatments. It’s important to note, however, that Derrick did her research before deciding to go through with the procedure. I would like to reiterate the importance of doing the same thing, no matter what type of treatment you wish to receive. As always, consult a licensed physician with any questions you have about laser hair removal or any other treatments. As mentioned in my last blog, Derrick did just that. And in doing so, she discovered that laser hair removal may produce different results for different people. For example, she discovered that lasers tend to work best on people with pale skin and dark hair. So she was in luck! Mind you, there are still laser hair removal options for those who have either light hair or dark skin. As well, the type of hair you have will also determine the number of procedures that you will need to have done to achieve optimum results. Be sure to go for a consultation and visit with a doctor before you go ahead and book an appointment to have the treatment. Having done her due diligence, Derrick knew that laser hair removal was for her. And how did it turn out? You’ll remember that in my last blog, she revealed her disdain for rashes, nicks and razor bumps. These are issues that I have encountered myself. Laser hair removal not only does away with such irritations but it helps you to avoid in-grown hairs as well. Derrick points out that “because lasers kill the follicle, hair won't grow back causing in-grown hairs you get with waxing.” If you’re anything like me – and I know that there are a lot of you out there – you have likely had enough of the “shaving and waxing woes”. The pain, the irritation and the high costs of such tedious tasks are just a few of the reasons that laser hair removal is becoming a more popular option for those of us who like to live life the smooth way!
