So what are the 5 secrets to living and extraordinary life?
1. Decide what really you want
The first step in Living a happy and successful life is to know what you want. If you ask others what they want, most will tell you what they don't want. So they will continue to get what they don't want. You only get what you focus on. The more specific you are about what you want, the more clear you will be. This will give you more power to achieve what you want faster. We also must learn what's stopping us from having what we want.
2. Have clear and specific goals
If your goals are vague, your results will also be vague. Make your goals specific.
A bad example:
"I want to write a book."
A good example:
"I want to write a book on time management that is at least 200 pages in length and have it done by December 16th. I'll commit myself to writing at least 2 pages every workday until I reach completion."
Do something everyday which will get you closer to your goal.
3. Set a higher standard for yourselves
Look at someone like Gandhi and what he achieved, or Nelson Mandela and the list goes on. What was it that enabled them to achieve the extraordinary? They set a higher standard for themselves. They were not afraid of failing. If we want to grow we need to take action and get our hands dirty. We might fail, but we have to get up and try again. Remember, there is no failure, only feedback. Thomas Edison made 10,000 attempts to invent the electric light bulb. He did not view these as failures, but ways not to invent the light bulb.
4. Taking 100 % responsibility
We are responsible for how we respond to an event, whether we cause the event to happen or not. Extraordinary comes when we take responsibility for the quality our relationships, results, our health our debts, our income, our feeling, our communications, our language and our self-talk. If we choose to take this path we will ultimately feel good about ourselves. But if we choose to duck behind the line by blaming other and making excuses, then we will not be happy or successful.
5. Take action despite your fear
Fear is a natural response to challenging situations in our lives. The trick is to accept it and face these challenges despite our fear. We all make mistakes. Don't let fear of failure or fear of rejection cripple you. Overcome this fear and take action. Action gives you the power to change your circumstances or the situation.
To live an extraordinary life is to play a bigger game. Decide what you want. Raise your expectation of yourself and taking consistent action. You will be surprised by what you can achieve.
