Living Your Legacy
Legacy signals
Legacy popularity: 1,618 legacy views
I have been doing a lot of research lately for our August tele-coaching seminars. Sometimes I will go through times when it seems like I keep hearing the same message over and over. It comes in many different forms - books, music, conversations, movies - it can be anything, really. The thing is, I notice a recurring theme. Do you ever feel like God is giving you a tap on the shoulder and saying “are you paying attention, this is important”? That is how I felt today.
I have been following Randy Pausch and his progress as he continues to battle pancreatic cancer. Some of you may recognize his name from the popularity of “The Last Lecture” speech that he gave at Carnegie Mellon (clips are also on YouTube) and the book that soon followed. Well, today as I checked Randy’s website, where they provide updates on his health, I was saddened to see that he had passed away sometime this morning. It brought into clear focus this vivid message I have been seeing and hearing in many different forms.
The message of LEGACY.
Something we don’t give much thought to in the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is hardly time to slow our thoughts down and be still before another jolt of reality hits us and we are off and running again.
Tonight it resonates as I think of this man - Randy Pausch. He made a conscious choice to live out his legacy and ended up inspiring those he touched.
We hear it so often - live in the NOW, be in the moment, make today your best day. It almost becomes part of the noise. There is so much coming at us at warp speed - who can stop to catch their breath?
I would like to call everyone who reads this to a NOW moment. A moment to reflect on YOUR life and the gift of legacy you have been entrusted with.
Every minute, every second, every good decision or lesson learned brought you to this moment.
You have a great power woven into your very being. Your life: your words, your actions, your energy and love touch everyone you meet.
Have you considered what an opportunity you have to leave a legacy?
Legacy does not demand education, money, special vocation, social graces or economic standing. It does not ask your I.Q., gender, race, or religion. Living your legacy involves leaving your individual, authentic fingerprint on someone else’s life and your world. Although it begins with YOU, it does not end with you. That is what Randy Pausch did. He shared himself with those he knew. Those he knew will never be the same because of this gift.
Every seed you sow has the possibility to grow for generations to come and even surpass your lifetime. You can send a message into the future by choosing to live your best life right now. How can you do that? You have been given everything you need to equip you for that very purpose. That may surprise some of you, but it is true. So many of us get caught up in the when I have…then I will… “when I have more money, when I have more time, when I have a better job, then I will live out my dreams, then I will have the life I desire”.
It is time to invest in today - give yourself a NOW moment. Join us on the journey to creating your life legacy. Today is your day to shine. Visit our coaching and mentoring page at www.CustomDesignYourLife.com and sign up for FREE e-Inspirations newsletter TODAY!
Declaring joy and abundance for your life,
