Calories are just another "grey" area that most people on a mission to effectively lose weight naturally fail to comprehend properly because of the hogwash of wrongful info' and contradictions that are continuously spread about. To be totally simplistic, 1 calorie is 1 measure of energy - that's it. They are simple units of energy that you obtain when eating certain foods or beverages and the exact amount you absorb is really not that important in the context we're about to discuss here. Again simply put - if a certain food or beverage type is proven to contain 100 calories, then that food or beverage when consumed will provide 100 units of a type of energy. It often appears as though the word "calories" has been severely used and abused and is treated as some kind of unthinkable word on every occasion weight-loss or any weight-loss method is discussed. It's a pity really, calories are not an enemy unless you decide to devour too much of the erroneous calorie-filled types of easily-converted-to-fat foods - like saturated and trans-fats. Calorie content suffers large variations because different components within the different food and beverage types have a distinct calorie weight per-gram; Carb's and proteins are known to contain 4 calories per gram, fats contain 9 calories per gram and alcohol contains 7 calories for each gram. Calories and weight-loss have an easily described relationship; if you don't use the energy that you acquire from the food you eat then your body will squirrel away that energy (or unused calories) as fat. Guess what happens next - these energy reserves bank up and finish up stored in all sorts of places around and within your body, which then gives you all that extra weight and all of the uncomfortable bulges that you just don't need! In closure, if the bulk of what you consume has lots of fat or calories it's going to give you more energy, which on the face of it seems to be a good thing, but as you now must know, isn't completely true. As a final summary; a simple understanding of calories and what they do will help you choose a simple weight-loss program that suits you best. Just focus, set your targets and stick to them Natural, speedy, and permanent weight-loss isn't and has never been about overly complicated dieting systems and/or poisonous diet pills - it's all about simplicity, a little bit of will-power and some genuine tried and tested weight-loss knowledge.
