Managing stress is of paramount interest for most of us. Stress is so pervasive in today's time that hardly anybody is spared by negative effects of stress. I will try to negate this negative effect here.nnOur response to stressful situation is different. It depends on several things. nn• The stressful situation - How bad is this? Can you get through it? nn• Outlook on life - Do you tend to be more positive or negative? nn• Health and well-being - Are you well-rested or sleep-deprived? Do you have a healthy diet or live on junk food? Do you get enough exercise or is there never enough time to fit it in? Are you healthy overall or do you have chronic health problems? nnManaging Stress effectively is a must when the stress starts interfering with your work and family life or affects your physical and emotional health. nnWhat we normally do while managing stressnnIn our modern society, many people try to cope with stress by resorting to smoking, drinking, sex and drugs. People with high ambitions have this type of problem and among this group, these methods are on the increase. Unfortunately, these methods are not a solution to the problem actually, they make matter worse.n nIt is well-known that smoking increases the heart beat and stimulates the system. Tobacco use also produces more carbon monoxide and increases the load on heart. The risk factor of coronary diseases will increase with such use.n nAlcohol is also not a solution. It just numbs the senses. Excessive drinking has many side effects like loss of appetite, cirrhosis of the liver, etc. nnSex is a natural function, but we should be aware of effects of excessive or casual sex in our free society. AIDS is the scary modern danger for the advocates of free sex. Though sex is stimulating in the end it tires out the system. nnDrug cults are especially popular among the younger generation. It appears that psychedelic drugs are used more for intense thrill and excitement. The reason for this is 'the rush to get the maximum effect in a minimum time'. The devastating consequences of drugs are well recognized. No one should support the drug cults. nnOne more thing we restore to while managing stress is medicine.nnMedicationnnAnother common thing is to try medicine. There are larger numbers of tranquillizers and sedatives available today. The reality is the production of these tranquillizers equals the tonnage of all the rest of the drugs produced in the world today. nnThese pills only sedate the pain centers and block sensations. The tensions are not released by them. Eventually they will take their toll and damage the system. nnMedication like tranquillizers and sedatives for stress are simply a means of suppression and not a real solution to the problem.n nThe perfect stress reliefnnYou are probably exited to read this heading, but let me tell you one thing: there is no perfect thing in this world. Accept one plain truth: the world is not perfect. If there is, then God must have created a perfect world.nnSo what we have to do to relieve stress?nnThe good news is you have everything you need already within you to deal with stress. Stress relief is your choice.nnI had to deal with stress without medicine. I worked at addressing both the physical and psychological aspects. I am 59, so I do light physical exercise and do much more for my mind. Breathing is the only thing that our mind can control, but we have to learn how to breathe. Yes, I mean that we do not know how to breathe properly.nnI believe that the two most essential functions for life, breathing and thinking, are also the most ignored. Nobody learns and nobody teaches us how to breathe or how to think.nnDid you ever learn how to breathe? Were you taught how to think?nnI have trained my mind and thinking toward the positive things in life. This helps in managing stress. I have a process divided in steps that will help to relieve stress. I have an e-book that explains everything. If you get it, you will also have much of your stress relieved. But first you better start with my Stress-free Week guide.
