Manufacturing continues to be the largest among all forms of industry, contributing much in the economy for many years. It is considered as the prime mover of employment, as it requires people to work in different businesses such as transportation, utilities, retailers, and distributors. These have given jobs to millions of people and have significantly reduced poverty rate. Unlike other forms of business, manufacturing is centered on production or the continuous supply of output to a certain group of consumers or product users. Production management is different from project management in that project management is focused on an endeavor with a definite time frame, while production management keeps on going until there is no more demand for the output product or service. Manufacturing indirectly provides people with primary commodities like shelter, energy, communication facilities and equipment and more. Without the manufacturing industry, retailing and distribution industries will not have anything to sell. These output distributors are mainly responsible for sending the manufactured products to the consumers or users. There are many types of manufacturing businesses. The variation is greatly affected by the demands of consumers or users of a certain type of product. Products can be in the form of services, machinery, equipment, real estate and energy. One of the biggest types of manufacturing business today is the semiconductor industry, which focuses on providing technological services and manufacturing technological products. The rise of the semiconductor business has created a lot of semiconductor jobs for people who have the appropriate technological skills. Semiconductor jobs are categorized into two sectors of production: software and hardware. The software sector is composed of skilled laborers that produce system software purchased by companies for their high-tech equipment. On the other hand, the hardware sector is composed of laborers that produce physical equipment, electronic machine parts and engine systems. The three major kinds of technology that semiconductor jobs produce are industrial, household and digital machines, including home appliances, gadgets and computers. This is the reason why semiconductor companies invest a lot in training employees who even have undergone years of formal education in the fields of engineering, information technology and electronics. These professionals are trained in equipment processing, field and site services and system installation.
