Rock the Boat

Is there any area in your life that has stayed the same for so long that you are no longer challenged or experiencing joy or fun with it anymore? If so, what are you doing to make the situation better or different for yourself?

I ask this because I have observed the need to remain safe and unshaken as part of our human conditioning. For example, have you ever caught yourself thinking...

"I don't really want to BE here anymore...yet, I better not rock the boat too much. I may not like where I am, but at least I know what THIS discomfort looks like, and I am used to it." nn(I have tried to talk myself into this sometimes, but it never seems to work in my favor and nothing really changes much.)

It may seem easier at times to remain safe by staying in a situation that no longer serves you or is fun for you anymore. But how safe or easy is that really?

Remember, you have the choice to stay in any situation you are in even if it is boring & joyless. Or, you can 'rock the boat' a little (or a lot) to change something important in your life.

What part of your life could use a good shaking up? Your career, your romantic life, your health?

Choose an area in which you can rock the boat in your life. You may not know what you will have when the water settles, but assuredly, it will be different and perhaps much better than what you had at the start.

"Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out." ~ James Conant

"The world hates change. But it is the only thing that has brought progress." n~ Charles Kettering nnn
