My kids tell me it’s not fair, I tell them that’s right, and it never will be so…

You need to learn how to find the advantage and use it! This is a big part of self empowerment.- - It is gaining that inner strength and ability to find and see the advantages & have the confidence to use it! The playing field is never even or equal. Your skills and attitude play a major role in the outcome. Knowing what you can do to have an advantage can be the difference in success or failure. Many times having an advantage can be misunderstood. It doesn’t mean that you take advantage of someone. It doesn’t mean you cheat, lie or steal. It means that you use your skills and your abilities to your advantage. It means that you work with people that can help you to achieve your goal. You share information, tools and techniques with those around you. You stay alert, aware and open to new opportunities. Unfair is a good thing. There is more to be gained by the effort that is put in when things seem unfair. Now it is true that some things in life are truly unfair. Somethings are unjust. But most things in life are just unfair in a good way. Like the early bird catches the worm. It is unfair that the bird who sleeps in misses out on breakfast but it is nice to know that if you get up early you are guaranteed to get the worm. I always try to explain to my kids that complaining about how unfair things are will get you nowhere. Instead, figure out what is the unfair part and try to get on the other side of it. Once you do that you are in the advantage. So they have to think it through. They have to focus on gaining the unfair advantage. They have to see what skills and abilities they need to develop to get there. They have to build their inner strength and empower themselves. It is part of building a better you. You have to have reasons why you want to build a better you. Some of those reasons should be to gain an advantage. When you empower yourself you are loading up on skills and abilities. Confidence, self esteem, self worth are all part of it but you should also look at your place in the world. Where do you want to be financially, spiritually, emotionally, and physically? You are creating your own story- -when you empower yourself. You can build with all the advantages that you need to live the life that you want. If you haven’t yet, you need to make a list of all the things you want to experience in your new life. The places you want to go and the things you want to do. This will help you to focus on building the advantage so that you never have to say that it’s Not Fair. When you do this then you will be able to realize that Not Fair is a good thing and you will want to teach those around you to see Not Fair in this way too.
