19th Day of Lent – The 12th Quality of Life

The 12th and last quality/power required to achieve Higher Consciousness is LIFE. Life means more than simply existence.nnQuoting Fillmore in LET'S KEEP A TRUE LENT: "Life is a phase of Being, the expression of which manifests as animation, activity, and vigor. The consciousness of eternal life places one in the stream of life that never fails. The whole race needs a spiritual quickening of the life principle; its origin is in the Divine Mind. Life is the gift of God. To think intently about life is to quicken it into action. To Jesus the God presence was an abiding flame---a flame of life everlasting that He felt in every cell of His body making Him more and more alive, cleansing and purifying Him until He became every whit perfect. By mastering carnality, Jesus opened the way for all men to attain eternal life. During our higher realizations of Truth we are often conscious of this abiding flame working in and through us."nnnStudy the Divine Self Illustration ... focus on the bottom figure ... man/woman living on the physical plane. Contrary to religious teachings, he did not come to "do it for us." Instead, we are to increasingly take on the qualities of a child god by following Jesus' example. Because we presently live on the plane of duality and depend almost exclusively upon our five physical senses to experience life, Jesus gave us physical plane examples---through the major events in his life---that we could see with our physical eyes.nnIn John 10:17-18, Jesus explains why he will choose to allow himself to be crucified. "For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it up again." Jesus allowed himself to be crucified to show us that there is no death ... life is eternal. He showed us that resurrection to life eternal is possible while being in the physical body. nnAs unbelievable as this last statement may be to some people, we who are living on Earth at this point in time have the opportunity to lift our bodies as well as our minds into the higher realms of spirit. We can choose to ascend during this physical plane lifetime. How do we achieve ascension while in the physical body? By lifting every cell in our body ... every thought in our mind ... every emotional feeling into the higher consciousness illustrated by C.W. Leadbeater's Illustration of the Enlightened One. nnnnAs Jesus prayed for us in John 17:17, 21: "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth..... As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us." AMEN ... AND SO IT IS!
