Online Marketing Plan Development

The words Online Marketing Plan Development sound just a little bit daunting. It sounds hard to do and way too cumbersome! Let's just skip that step! Nooooooo! We are here to help you through that step!

Why that is stepped so important? Well it helps us figure out the roadmap of our business. The all important, who is really our customer? How would we describe them? What are their likes and dislikes, their interests, their needs?

Because let's face it, without knowing that, our businesses can be anything in terms of its personality, our product and service offerings, our staff, our pricing, etc. We have to put a stake in the ground as to what we want to stand for, where our guardrails are. It helps to define what our offer is and how we are choosing to compete. The areas where we will plan for superiority in the marketplace and other areas where being on par with our competitors will be just fine, thank you very much!

Our staffing decisions in our brick and mortar store should reflect our core customer target to some large degree through our ecommerce web site solutions. In our online store, it is reflected in our online store's personality and tonality of our product descriptions, FAQs and definitely if we use live chat, the operators. This last is very hard to do unless we take care of the live chat ourselves. Alternatively, if we can hire a very big firm to handle this for us, then we have much more say so in how they are trained and how they reflect our online brand development. This is one area that is quite variable from a quality control perspective in regards to consistently reflecting our target customer.

Once we do this initial step in creating our online business marketing plan, then our challenge will be to stick to it. This is not a moving target. This is a bull’s eye that we should revisit annually, during our annual planning business reviews. Beyond that, this is a stake in the ground, so spend time on getting as close to right as we can be.
