Are you a negative person who always thinks of the worst things that could happen? Do you always expect the worst case scenarios? Do you feel that something is missing in your life but don't know what it is? Below I've listed four positive thinking techniques for you to shake off the negativities in your life and start moving forward with optimism and purpose. Technique #1- Meditation First, look for a spot in your house where you are comfortable. Release the tensions in your mind and body. Close your eyes, relax and meditate. Do the breathing exercise - count one to eight as you inhale and exhale. Have you noticed that every time you are stressed, you have shallow breaths? Take deep breaths if you drift to negative thoughts. You have to shake off the bad vibes. Technique #2- Become Motivated Second, you have to teach yourself to be motivated no matter what the situation is. You own your day. You are the one solely responsible for your day. Most people will be motivated when they do well but when it's a bad day, they will feel unmotivated. For instance, when you do well, you are inspired to finish all your tasks in the office. On the other hand, when you are scolded by your boss, you will not work and will procrastinate. At the end of the day, who makes the situation worse? Is it your boss or you? You let it happen to you. Technique #3- Attitude of Gratitude Having a grateful attitude is an important practice that I have brought into my daily routine. Since I've adopted this thinking I've noticed that it has improved my emotional well-being and general happiness. We've always got something to be grateful for in our lives. Being thankful for everything you have will put you in a positive mental state and hugely impacts the way you think and feel. An attitude of gratitude sends out a message to the Universe that more of the same would be welcomed into your life. Technique #4- Gratitude Journal When you have adopted a grateful attitude, the next step is to have a notebook where you can write down your positive thoughts. If there are negative aspects impeding your personality, look for all the positive aspects you're currently experiencing in your life. Just like in the story of Peter Pan, think happy thoughts. Before you go to bed at night, write down all the things you are grateful for, for that day. Start by listing five things that you're grateful however big or small e.g. the sun was shining, the loving relationship, the friends you have, and then look to increase the length of your list as time goes by. This again is an exercise I do every night before I go to bed and it helps me feel really good about my life. If you do this, I know you will notice that you will start feeling happier and lighter. Follow these four positive thinking techniques and make them part of your daily life. You will eventually see improvements on how you live and it will bring changes not only in your life but to the people around you as well. Good luck and witness your life change with these simple but super powerful positive thinking techniques!

Instead of living in the moment, we live for the most part in our minds, cluttered with thoughts. These thoughts are in fact part of our memories from the past. These memories are either pleasant or unpleasant, depending upon whether we had a like or dislike towards them when they occured. For example, instead of enjoying the holiday you have been looking forward to, you spend most of your time thinking about your work whilst on holiday. You cannot fully relax and appreciate
