Action #2: Eat a Carbohydrate Once you are out of the gym you will need to get some nutrients into your body immediately. You will want to try to find a good carbohydrate like a piece of fruit to consume. This could be an apple, orange, or even a vegetable. You can have a full glass of water with this as well. Your body will be seriously weakened after a workout, and you need carbohydrates to pump energy back into your system. You can also look into a good protein shake that has many nutrients in it. They are easy to make and come in many flavors. These normally have some kind of carbohydrate in them. All of this will further enhance your post workout recovery. Action #3: Cold Shower Your automatic reaction may be to take a hot shower afterwards, but you should resist this. Instead you will want to take a cold shower. This will reinforce the burning of calories. So spend about 5 minutes doing this and then get out. You should have a towel immediately available to dry off with. This is an excellent way to burn off excess fat in little amounts. It may be hard for you to do this at first, so you should slowly adjust the temperature to get used to it.
