It's the oddest thing within the world, people who you have known forever and are extremely intelligent, hear you're expecting and started telling you about pregnancy old-wives tales. I am usually amazed at what people believe and more astonished in the fact they pass these myths as reality to expecting women. So as a expecting woman if somebody starts telling you some far-fetched thing to see what the gender of your infant is going to be, politely decline and tell you will wait for that ultra sound. We've put together a list of some of the most popular old-wives tales and while most are fiction a couple of are reality.. Let’s be clear, the best way to determine your child’s gender is through ultrasound. I know it's tough to wait around 18 – 22 weeks to discover out what the babies sex is, but that is just the way it is. Think how lucky you're simply because in years gone by you just had to wait around until the infant was born. 1 myth about determining the sex of one's unborn infant is through the fetal heart rate. It states that a rate over 140 means it's a girl. This really is merely not true. Your baby will have a heart rate anywhere from 110 to 180. It will probably be different during the development process as well as of the various activity’s levels of the infant. So you are able to discount this myth, it is fiction. Being pregnant is a happy time, of great anticipation. It is also time of caution. A mom- to- be wants to do everything she can to make certain the baby-to-be is well taken care of. So remember to use care when you are taking advice from family and friends. Among the most frightening myths is one regarding raising your arms above your head. This story states that you should not do this because the umbilical cord will get caught about the child's neck. Not true and just plain stupid. Many of the myths about how to determine the gender of your child first simply do not deliver the results and secondly some are harmful. In the event you hear of any old-wives talesl which may have you using chemicals to find out if you are having a boy or girl, do not attempt them. One for example has you urinating on drain cleaning crystals. Why would you carry out this, because first the myth doesn't work and more importantly you're putting your wellbeing at risk by coming within close contact with chemicals? Only recently have we been able to medically determine the gender of unborn toddlers. Preceding to this technology we merely anxiously waited for nine months. If you must know the sex of your unborn little one, then only use approved medical test, done in a qualified healthcare facility. For years people have stated that if you have a lot of heartburn when you are pregnant then the child will be born with a lot of hair. This actually has some medical truth. The estrogen and progesterone that produce hair in infants may well cause some effects on your esophagus which can result in heartburn. We finally located a myth that has some shades of truth Your body, age and how many kids you have had previously can determine how you carry your newborn. Many women have heard the old-wives tale that if you carry your baby high it can be a girl and low is a boy. Well there is no truth to this at all. How you carry your baby is dependent mostly on your torso. Also if you have had children before you may carry the 2nd one a little lower. So there is no reality to the myth at all.. As you have seen most of these tales are just that. When individuals offer these myths, just smile and know that they are really trying to share in your delight of the birth of your new baby.
